- When Jhonatan heard his mom in a hallway one day he was surprised to see it was just his parrot Bruno. Bruno learned to mimic her to a tee and started using Spanish phrases so well it’s almost uncanny. Now he bosses his owner around and asks him to go work several times a day, but it’s all just good fun!

@@frank234561I think if they can understand a language (like if they obey orders) it means they know it. My aunt's family tried this on her dog by reminding him of things he shouldn't have done in the past in Portuguese, Spanish and English and the dog actually seemed to understand all those languages because they speak all of them in my aunt's house.

@@Parisroam You may be right that parrots are less smart than dogs but some can understand what they are saying, search up Alex the Parrot. He was a test subject and proved more of avid intelligence, which may support that parrots can understand more than what we believe them, generally as well.

This may be morbid but it’s true. His mother has to pass one day. Once that happens. That bird sounding EXACTLY like his mother will be the most amazing thing in the world for him. I wish I had something like that for my dad. I used to have to search old home movies to try to find his voice to hear it. This bird will genuinely help him therapeutically down the line. So unbelievably cool.
Or it will constantly remind him that she died. Depends on the person probably.
@RObinaOOd - My mother died in 1994 of cancer. I saved 2 voice messages from her on my phone during the last year of her life. I cherish hearing her voice, especially when she says ""I love you, dear" at the end. 💖 I still miss her, and her voice is reassuring.
It’s not morbid. I thought about it around the minute mark. He’s going to hold on to that bird so tight once his mother is gone. I would give almost anything to hear my father’s voice again.
I feel the same. I have a bunch of videos of my mom that my sister and family compiled. I love hearing her voice from time to time. It's been 2 years since I lost her.
I used converted home movies to generate an AI voice model of my Grandpa and it was absolutely horrifying

Yeah, it's funny, though it makes sense that they're mimicking the sound shapes, rhthym and tone that they hear, regardless of language, or if it's household sounds, machinery or other animals. 😀

@Charlesmom - I would've loved having a pesky, chatty bird as a second alarm clock, back when I was in high school, and working in my twenties. *_Nothing_* would wake me up! I even got a *wind-up clock* with *clanging bells* and put it in the hallway as a back-up, so I'd have to get up to turn it off, then go take a leak. If I didn't immediately get into a *cold shower,* I'd be back under the covers, *hitting the snooze* on my electric alarm clock over and over, until the last possible minute.
I was always rushing to school or work, cycling my butt off for 20-30 minutes and arriving breathless.
However, I was rarely late to go _on stage_ as a *singer,* but with boring jobs, I didn't care. Not much has changed, except I'm a self-employed visual artist now, and still do singing gigs.
I'd even train the parrot to pull on my hair or something annoying to get me up (not peck my eyes out, though). 😂🐦
I might be tearing up a little. Their bond is so beautiful. It seems like he has a close relationship with his mama so to have his bird sound like her is the cherry on the cake 😊😊😊
I find it so hilarious that a bird can learn to talk just like a human and how it probably has no idea it sounds like a human parent. I wish i had a bird telling me what to do 😂😂
My uncle used to have an African Grey that stayed with some cousins while he worked contract jobs. The parrot would call my cousin down for school, on Saturdays, in her dad's voice. When she scrambled down the stairs, there was the bird... laughing.

These birds are highly intelligent and super protective!! They make great pets! I used to raise cockatiels, part of the parrot family. They do pick up words, songs, phrases. It's such a rewarding thing to get into. I miss my birds so much. They become part of the family just like you see in this video❤

He says so many words and interacts with his family very well. Yellow napes are one of the most talkative parrots.
So sweet! I'm glad he bonded with you. My Aunt had an African Grey who was her life. When she died the parrot's grief was unrelenting. It's not uncommon for parrots to outlive adult owners. Hopefully, Mom understands how beneficial this will be for her beloved bird.💕 🦜💕

How cute. We had a parrot that stayed with my grandma abd picked up her voice and conversations. When my grandma passed away it was as if she was still there. The parrot would still talk and sing with her voice.
