I think you missed the point of RDJ's performance by a mile. He IS playing caricature of whitemen seen from Asians eyes as Americans have done so for Asians. Just as White society at that time, especially, viewed Asians and its diverse culture as one monotheistic thing, Asians too had that impression of America and Europe at large. And it's refreshing to see the table turn in my opinion.
the robert downey jr. characters aren't necessarily real characters, they're representations from thr captain's viewpoint, which was revealed to be unreliable in the end. hence why they were exaggerated.
Harsh review. Downey is best when portraying comic roles. To me he's believable as the CIA agent and director. Although i agree hes not convincing enough in the fund scene where he plays 5 characters art once (he's no Eddie Murphy) For me the 1st episode is by far my fav as it showed and I was hoping for more of a clever spy element to the show than its given up into more (epidodev5) but its still entertaining 7/10
It seems like there was a good show in there somewhere, but it wasn't this show. To be rubbed the wrong way by RDJ, something went wrong. It stinks when you are looking forward to a show and the show isn't very good. Skip it.
In my opinion on captain character doesn't have big motivation It just a boring to watch Also most of cast have bad impression in that show That general character so cringe & dumb My rating of that show 2/10

I'm a "half-breed" (Vietnamese-American). I was really excited for this...as were my parents.
We made it 5 episodes and couldn't take it anymore.
There are only 5 out😂
@@AS-gz8oe Correct. And 5 is as far as we're going to go.

I wanted to like it too, but it just isn't doing it for me.
Yup. Agreed
Good review!👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏
