The way this song is arranged is so damn tasty. You got the verses ("how many days") and the chorus ("I'm on the cross"), mixes it up in the middle with that bridge, but then the magic really begins at that slow buildup afterwards. It's the same chord progression that the song opens with and crescendos right into that majestic ending where the verse is reprised as gang vocals, while Dan reprises the chorus, but these same melodies hit with a different color or flavor because the chord progression and accompaniment is different than when we heard them earlier in the song's verse and chorus. Just brilliant.
to atalvideo...please dont ever delete this from youtube..im a huge atal fan and im gonna miss this intro sooo much if they really never play again, thanks
as a songwriter it is discouraging to see a band as amazing as atal not make it to the big leagues like other mainstream bands. Atal should be paid lots of money to write music, more so than green day or jason mraz, or the white stripes.
Actually Jason Mraz is an amazing artist (if you expose yourself to his whole catalogue). Most of his stuff is much more musical than the radio stuff. Newest few albums haven't been crazy good but his earlier stuff & live stuff through the album with "I'm yours" were all amazing!!! Other than that I agree though..
Well said. Sounding the same means the band can actually play their own music. They even made up a 7/8 intro to it which is amazing. The song itself also sounds amazing. And watching this shows they definitely are good live, cuz this video is incredible.
@lkoz91 yah I totally agree. idk thats just what came to mind when i saw them. but I can't imagine still coming up like they are and having large crowds of people they arent completely used to
So the singer of this band wrote all of Olivia rodrigo’s 2021 hits. I’m glad he eventually added on the Billboard top chart but ATAL was way better than her album
@jayfizz04 yah of course they are I would be. idk I think I'm just so used to seeing most genius musicians like deeply into their music instead of walking around stage and exagerating on every part they play
god i miss this band
I wish they would remaster this video in HD
They're freaking flawless live.

They hit it right on the mark for this one.
