For those who haven't read the light novel, Isabella canonically has a crush on Violet. It's really obvious, honestly. She just flat out thinks, I love Violet. I don't why they omitted that from the movie.

Well, I think it is really oblivious in the movie. They way they interact and how Isabella act around Violet really seems like she has a crush on her, unfortunately things happen.
@Jablink I think you've misunderstood a bit. First of all Violet Evergarden from the beginning has been a novel and anime not only of romance, if we had to talk about that then the main couple is not a girl x girl, but Violet and the General (Man). Although in the movie several things changed as well as in the anime, I must tell you that Isabella is the only one who possibly got to have some kind of feeling towards Violet, but I hope you understand that the story compared to the movie is not about them in one romantic way. It it's not Yuri(btw I'm not complaining)

If people wanna know why a lot of you cried (including me) during a lot of Violet Evergarden episodes is because of this (THEORY AND EMOTION RELATED STUFF WARNING). You see Violets story is quite sad if you think about it, so to see a person trying to understand the concept of emotions like love is quite different from some shows. Violet makes us think of the people we love and what would happen to us if they were to go..thus making every episode feel deep and emotional..it also shows us that even in small ways, like writing a letter we can make big changes happen

Actually wish Violet and Isabella got together. The thing with Violet Evergarden, the one thing that didn’t sit with me was Violet was only 10 years old when Gilbert fell in love with her, and Gilbert was 29. It’s not Violet’s fault for loving him for Gilbert was the only person to show her kindness. Yet I feel that their relationship was one of a father figure and a child rather than a romantic relationship. It’s true that they met again years later but even then you see the uneven dynamic. Violet still calls him “Major” because that’s the only way she addresses him. Even in the light novel Gilbert has to teach her to call him by his name. (Spoiler) when he kisses her she doesn’t know how to react and calls him Major again.
Unpopular opinion: Gilbert should’ve just stayed MIA so that Violet could heal from the pain of losing someone she loved so deeply. Even in the latest movie where they meet, you can see her pain, she’s never moved on or forgotten Gilbert and his actions hurt her even more.
I don’t hate Gilbert tho, he’s a pretty sweet character.

Honestly I just never saw Violet to have any chemistry with Gilbert. I just always saw them as like parent and child so like it kinda weirded me out the romance between the two. Also I guess I do think Isabella and Violet have great chemistry and stuff I'm ok with them not being together. Honestly would be happy if Gilbert had actually died cause like then her getting over her grief of Gilbert dying felt useless. Like I felt it would have been better if just the whole thing was Violet getting over her grief and dependency on Gilbert after he died and then interacting with other people and help them confront their own grief.
Edit: I just searched it up and it says Gilbert estimated she might have been ten when he found her, and he was like I'm his mid twenties and so like no hate but very fucking creeped out. And at the current age Gilbert is like 29 and Violet is 14

With Isabelle she has also a chemistry, they would have more balanced, healthy, happier relationship, though love, bond is not such strong from the start as with Gilbert, but after a time they would build huge connection (not-to-loose) in between.

Violet and Amy had such amazing chemistry and their relationship was so so beautiful. I honestly wish they would have ended up together in a romantic relationship. In the recent movie we find out Gilbert is alive. And it ends with them finally embracing and Gilbert saying “I love you.” Again. I wish Violet and Amy would’ve gotten together and had Gilbert as more like a father figure to Violet. Just me I guess! They just were too precious together!!!

There should not be any sort of love interest since the whole point of the last season was for violet to accept Gilbert's fate and live a life of her own and find happiness in herself. She is simply a "doll" and writes letters for those who cannot write or possibly read. She helped Isabella find happiness after her childhood I take it [although I have not watched the full movie so i might not understand.] and I do not see why most of the people in the comment section are acting like this should be seen as a love interest. They simply have a strong friendship and violet was helping her out by helping her find happiness in herself. Although I admit, she does seem to have a crush on violet Via the blushing on Isabella's face.
