This is the real TED talk (Tolu, Ella and Dara talk). I read somewhere one time that "God thinks to us more than He talks to us"...we'd know His "voice" more when we pay attention to that inner knowing or witness. Also we become more sensitive to his leading when we spend more time with Him. Thanks for your TED talk!

I agree with that point. I used to feel like i was praying because I was "kabashing" but in one season, every desire to kabash evaporated into thin air and all I was left with was constantly fellowshiping with the Spirit of God and like Ella said, constantly engaging him and he taught me things that no pastor or book or study could have revealed to me.
Thank God for GSM madness in the world, when I'm walking on the road, I can be talking aloud to the Holy Spirit and enjoying fellowship with him without people giving me wierd looks.
That's not to say I won't Kabash once in a while but I reserve it for when I want to attack problems.
Aww, sometimes when you want to be still, you end up sleeping 😫....Teach me to be still Lord

Yea.this works for me a lot.i don’t know where I got the imagination from but I imagine myself bowing before God and ready to hear from him.also there’s an audio that helps my imagination it’s “a stroll along the Sea of Galilee” I’m sure it’s on UA-cam. You can check it out.i use it in the early hours of the morning

I agree with Ella, I do that as well and try to focus my mind on Heaven and visualize God's throne. So I see myself in front of His throne. It really helps me focus.

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old; he will not depart from it

Yes very true, I woke up one day and I was going to do a quick prayer and do some other tasks ( I had a lot to do) but as I was about to stand up I heard that still small voice just say relax and hear from me. The things the holy spirit has to say are wonderful and we don't need to rush away from Gods presence but be still and listen. Also during the day when we carry the consciousness of Gods presence around, through worship and meditation we will hear his voice during the day, when we ought to make decisions and in our relationship with others. I'm blessed y'all!!!

Another way is hearing God's word (sermon) through many people at same time, it happens to me alot.
Example is about one of the last episodes of true talk, when the ladies talked about Joseph, same Joseph I was personally studying, same Joseph one of the pastors I listen to was preaching about!
Guess what, my work right now is giving me heat.
So I remember Joseph and Esther! I'm at the stage of Joseph right now in my life, I am at Potiphar's house!

Great job ladies, the Lord increase your strength, wisdom and understanding of His words.AMEN. Sister Tolu has actually said part of what came to my mind as regards when you want to be still and hear from God and your mind keep doing ' ajala travel all over the world' there are a lot to do to make sure you dont waste that time. this is what i do; shabi the devil want to distract me ni, I distract and confuse it with psalms and hymns, take slow worship song, after some times hum the song and translate into singing in tongue, its gravitates to speaking in tongue, by the time i do this for 30mins or an hour, my mind would have been caught up with the fire of His presence. when you do this with all sincerity, God will either speak to you or give you sound sleep -be still kind of of sleep. i bet you when you wake up from such sleep, your peace, instruction and direction will return. May will never lack direction IJN.

Just as I started watching the talk, I heard a voice in my spirit " The power of Meditation " I resisted it but it came again so strong that I had to look for a pen and write it down. Then as I continue watching, I begin to see my life as am fighting with thoughts; negative thoughts always outweighs positive thoughts. Am so blessed with this topic.
