Wait, does this game not have combo hits??? am i the only one who doesn't like how sword skills look extra sauce? well at least it's not the clusterfck that lycoris is. I am only judging from the footage i am still in RE: hollow fragment have long way to go till i reach this one. At least hollow fragment is more faithfull to the sword skills maybe clunky and slow and weird hitboxes but at least some battle skills affect the animations to be snappier that way. Also kirito seems to move like x3 the speed of the enemies so dunno it doesn't look very balanced to me. Also the enemies telegraphs make the game 2 easy? So is this game way better than sao re hollow fragment gameplay wise? cause i am not feeling it
@@bendovahkiin8405 Alicization Lycoris has the most faithful Sword Skill system ever in the entire series, with branching off skills and tight, skill specific Skill Connect openings. Hollow Realization was too fast, Hollow Fragment was too slow and stiff. Hollow Realization simply opts in for a snappier combat where it feels more like a hack and slash whereas Lycoris takes a more grounded and personal approach to combat. Hollow Fragment does not have an approach, it's just "Use Skill".
No matter what happens, I think I'll always prefer Hollow Fragment. I've never thought the games really captured the same feel Hollow Fragment had. Sure I liked them, but I prefered how everything was handled originally.
Indeed! My favorite part of Hollow Realization was going back to Aincrad. The Hollow Fragment inspired music there really hit the spot. I'm dissapointed we can't revisit any of the 75-100 floors, it would have been great.
I think the main reason with not adding that is that HF was a remake on it's own of Infinity Moment, it would make those floors too redundant. Good thing is, every single new DLC technically takes place on Aincrad! Stalvatos Ruins from Warriors of the Sky, as well as the announced Lava and Ice stages for DLC 1 and 2 are on Aincrad, as well as the story is going to revolve around the incomplete Aincrad! And yes, I loved the music, especially the Stalvatos Ruins music, Aincrad style music always gives me chills!
My thoughts exactly. Not just the feel, but the mechanics. Hollow Realization is fun, but I liked the slower pace of the sword skills in HF and how cinematic it made fights. Its rhythm made it much easier to put a soundtrack to. And that you didn't really need to stack/rely on Atk buffs to deal damage, since the way damage worked, upping Atk didn't make much difference. Being able to hold a limited amount of buffs at a time made it rely less on them, and I liked the sword skill cooldown system of the PS4 version as it made players utilize more than just 2 or the skills, especially in a chain. Made players pick their moments to use their arcane skill, either to wait till they created a moment to deal maximum damage with it (like waiting to get the Exact Backstep "Full Charge" buff for double damage and waiting till the HNM uses its ultimate attack first, or using the arcane skill sooner so it could recharge sooner to use again). That and I loved the HNMs. Avoiding damage from them without any invincibility buffs felt like more of an accomplishment. And if you wanted, there WERE OP ways you could break the game, which is always fun when you're bored lol.
Fragment had a huge offline MMO vibe in how it played even, which Realization doesn't have at all. It's not just that though, it's the UI and character behavior, it's the town itself. The performance in Realization is god damn terrible on Vita but it runs without a hitch on PS4 which for me as a Vita guy isn't good. So far Fragment runs excellent and manages to also look better than Fragment during exploration and inside the town too. All in all Fragment feels like SAO, the show, as a game. Realization feels like some other thing that was reskinned to be a SAO product instead, like some generic action RPG with some offline MMO features and a SAO skins and characters DLC pack installed. Something that I do think is super shit in Fragment is the whole only having one partner around at any time. Lost Song and Accel World vs SAO let you have two people with you. Realization lets you have three people with you.
Im a aso fan with hearth and i searched for a aso game a long time, i found this game and fell in love and the grind i put in the game was special, i didnt grinde a game like SaoHR in a long time, Anime 10/10 Game 15/10❤❤

Im completly new to this SAO thingy , its been years since started getting back in the mood to play again and sao appeals so much to me with the story being about real living human being able to jump into online game world. What would you recommend me?...watch the anime maybe read the manga? or just try this game?
If you are new to SAO, I strongly recommend watching the anime first. If you want to go deeper into the series, Light Novels are the source material, not the manga, so keep that in mind. This game is the third game in the series, which builds upon the first half of the first season of the anime, along with two other games, so chances are, you will feel a little out of place if you start here.
Eeeehhhh, not so much. SAO Games are less games and more visual novels with a game attached to it. Basically, very story driven, book like products that are mainly made for the fans.
I believe its because that's the Duel Mode skill palette, not the normal one. You can see it in the tutorial screen that the two screens are different at 13:19
The levelling is most certainly not the focus of the game. As mentioned, it is a story based game that takes place in an MMO, so the focus is definitely not the MMO part. You will receive a lot more bonus EXP when underlevelled and much less EXP when overlevelled, as the game aims to ensure you are around the intended level, which is mostly an arbitrary guiding mechanism than a core aspect.

As I loved the SOA series it would've been a perfect fit :P Will probably wait for a big discount to pick it up then, but too bad to hear that the levelling is not really a big element in this game. Was looking forward to grind some quests to get to the next stage instead of just get to the next stage because the story brings me there.
@@Gamerturk Well, I actually cheated somehow, it is easy to level up in multiplayer, just set the enemies to nightmare difficulty, kill enemies for 2 hours and there you go, I just got in zone 3 and I am level 50 fighting against enemies level 20
On sale deluxe edition..$110 down to $27..kinda wanna pick it up..been flipping back and forth..have seem a few reviews...most say it sucks..but idk..it looks amazing ..you say the story is good but others say it's crap..I'm legit torn :(
I can't say anything regarding the "it's crap" bit, but general experience tells me that people still can't grasp with the idea of "NPC's being as real as humans" in an ultra realistic VR experience and thus can't relate with most SAO concepts to begin with. They still think an NPC is on the same level as your typical AI in every other game, however, the NPC's in SAO has always been more than that. I'd say that is what makes the difference, if you can relate with the "higher AI" capabilities of a supposed "NPC". The story revolves around Premiere, a human-like NPC and leads onto a very personal story with that AI, especially in the DLC's. Of course, you don't get the high octane, anime action story, it's a visual novel that leaves many things to your own imagination and has long gameplay sequences in between. Personally though, HR is my favourite SAO Game in the entire series. Nice story, especially into DLC's (which Deluxe Edition comes with), great portrayal of characters in their individual character story events and fun interactions (albeit going slightly into fanservice territory here and there). If you are an SAO fan, you should definitely go for it. If you are still torn, you may wanna watch some of my playthrough videos to make a decision.

Its up to you to decide which one you truly want. Though HR is similar to HF, so if you didnt finish HF because you didnt have fun, that would probably be the case in HR as well. As for Season Pass, with how Bamco is dealing with HR DLC's, I'd say you should wait until they release DLC3.
