Sol is definitely the next Fighting game character I wanna see make it as Smash dlc. Sol’s splash screen would probably be like, “Sol Badguy Gears Up!” or “Sol Badguy Bursts Into Battle!”
Honestly I think the older version fits better gameplay wise. Strive sol is slower and more focused on grounded pressure with far slash. That kind of plus on block offense doesn't really work with how shields are designed. Also wild throw be combo starter is too cool.
I know this was made 11 months ago but i would have order sol as an alt. Costume and whatever his stage is have it say at the beginning of the round "heaven or hell, duel one, lets rock!"

I'm not familiar with Guilty Gear, but I sometimes see Sol's name being thrown around. After seeing a couple of videos supporting Sol Badguy for Smash including yours, I think he would be a great DLC character! You've done an amazingly thorough job with his potential moveset and to be honest, I think he would be more powerful than Ganondorf.
Yeah, he isn't extremely popular like other characters, it's understandable because he is a traditional fighting character, a genre which most of Smash fans aren't that familiar with (nothing wrong with that). On top of that Guilty Gear, while has legacy and it's influential, isn't that well known like Mortal Kombat or Tekken, I guess a part of that it's because the anime influence. But I think he has a shot, if Joker got in Sol can happen in my opinion. He could bring some interesting mechanics from GG like roman cancels, air dash, and other ones. And while his moveset isn't the most crazy in Guilty Gear, I think he would fit very well in Smash and could be very cool to play and watch. One of the reasons I think he isn't impossible is because Arc System is in it's own way a relevant and important developer that usually Smash fans don't mention that much, like SNK, a company that maybe people didn't discussed that much but makes a lot of sense for being in Smash, the same could apply to Arcsys I believe.
Honestly? If the ARMS character isn't a promotion, I'd say Sol's chances will shoot up pretty high. Not an instant lock, mind you, never say someone's a lock or you'll take a curveball to the face, but I'd say he'd be pretty likely.
Dude! This is fantastic. As a huge Guilty a Gear fan, I would love Sol in Smash. I was honestly planning on doing a similar video to this but your ideas are so similar to mines that it is kind of scary. XD there are some differences but I do like your ideas better to be honest. Though one idea I have that isn't in this video I would love to see is Sol with Ragna's color pallet like in GGXXAC+R with his DUST colors.
After playing Terry for a while, I’d have to say that I’d change his side smash for his down smash, and make Farnir a fifth special move. Aside from that. I’d also make his standard jab combo a combination of punch, kick, slash, and heavy slash. Other than that, this is a fantastic video
I only have 2 criticisms, I feel Sol's air throw should be in as it's easy to make him use that on the ground in terms of animation and the description mentions Strive's theme as Lazy Heart when it's officially called Smell of the Game on Spotify last I checked
I love how thorough your videos are! I'm not overly familiar with Guilty Gear (only played a bit of Xrd), but I could clearly see Sol working in Smash.
*sigh* since the River City series got represented as Event Spirits, I’m going for Sol Badguy to represent ArcSys. Even if I want Sol to be the one to rep ArcSys, I also have hope for the Lee brothers from Double Dragon and Ragna the Bloodedge.
Personally, my Arc Systems character would have to be Hyde Kido from Under Night In-Birth. But I would love to see Sol come in, Guilty Gear has banger music.
I agree with Ragna, i'd love to see him in smash honestly, he coud be a rushdown character with a decent neutral who'se very tricky to fight because of soul eater, and the air dash, he could even have a meter for rapid cancels and distortions, and maybe an Astral if you have a 2 stock lead and your opponent is 100% or higher
Excellent concept, although I feel like Roman Cancel would be an additional input on top of the four specials. So, for example, Roman Cancel would be Shield + Attack + Special (so basically Grab + Special), and he would likely have, say, Ground Viper as Down Special. In addition to this, he would also have Burst as a separate meter (another whole can of worms) and could simply use Shield + Special. However, this may be a little complex to implement into the simple control scheme of Smash, so your take is also completely valid. Another thing is about the up-air. Order Sol's j. Kick from Accent Core can hit upwards, acting very similarly to Ken's up-air. Order Sol also has a variation on Gunflame, named Blockhead Buster, which could work as an aerial version of Gunflame, as it merely has an explosion from the sword rather than a full-on projectile. I can understand wanting to keep this limited to Xrd Sol, but taking a few moves from Order Sol could help to fill in some of the blanks in the moveset, and wouldn't be too much of a stretch considering that Order Sol is literally just Sol from the past. Also, do you think Ragna from Blazblue would work as an echo, considering the similarities between them in both backstory and gameplay?

i'd switch the ground flame and its fakeout around. i would also change roman cancel to shield during startups, cooldowns, and on-hits or change it to A+B. (mapping roman cancel to a direction plus button just feels wrong) then add another special. i would say ground viper but you rolled that into up B. could put wild throw as the down b command grab. it would also let Sol grab in the air as well. also it looks like you only have inputs for Tension Specials? as for extras, you wouldnt have any vocal tracks with cussing in it. (Not saying you said otherwise, just sayin.) and Nintendo wouldnt allow the up yours taunt. inkling in mario kart 8 had that and they removed it later.
I know I'm 2 years late but Sin Kiske is Sol's Grandson not adopted son, Sin's parent's are Ky Kiske and Dizzy. Also Sol's weapon in Xrd is the Junkyard Dog Mk.III.

Guilty Gear is definitely a fighting game that needs more attention. Arcsys is mainly known for DBFZ but they were only requested to do that because of Guilty Gear. I know we aren’t getting anymore DLC and there’s still that missing page in the smash website, but I think we can all admit that there’s nothing left. But hey smash ult released 2 years after the release of the last smash 4 character. So maybe in 2023 we will see Sol Badguy in the roster. (Not confirmed just me being hopeful)
If final smash gauge is enabled/There's another Sol in the match, taunting with his thumbs down/middle finger should give them a tiny bit of tension/final smash gauge when you use it
I really like your break down of Sol but I feel like it would’ve been nice if you talked about what Sol’s stage and tracks that play in the background would be. I feel like either Neo New York, May’s Ship, or the Illyria Kingdom would be good stages to use. As for music, since Guilty Gear is well known for its songs, I think it would make sense for it to have almost as many songs as SNK. The songs I personally would pick are of course the Missing Link cast’s individual themes, Noontide Meet Again Anji theme a remix of Chipp’s theme Get Down to Business a remix of Keep Yourself Alive Holy Orders remix Still in the Dark Big Blast Sonic Bump Keep the Flag Flying, etc.

As a Sol main, and a Terry main in Smash, I would say that in Smash, Sol would DEFINITELY not be allowed to Roman Cancel out of a Volcanic Viper, like at all. Even if he does connect with it. That would make his ability to recover too OP, putting it even higher than the likes of ZSS, Pikachu/Pichu, and Villager/Isabelle. My assumption is that true input heavy Volcanic Viper would have about the same recovery distance as True Input Fierce Shoryuken from Ken. With your idea, that means that from the literal bottom left corner of the blast zone, Sol would be able to make it back, not only to ledge, but to the top platform of Battlefield, and most likely kill whatever he's dragging with him. As badass as that concept would be, it'd be too broken for Smash. Sol would immediately be the frontrunner for the Sma5h equivalent of Brawl Meta Knight.
I wanna add something to the vid. Alternate costumes. His attire during his days being part of the Holy Order, his 2D pixle attire, Xrd attire and his Guilty Gear StrIVe attire.

i am not much a Guilty gear fan but it would be cool if he would be in Smash but i really would love to see Mostly Ragna the Bloodedge from BlazBlue in Smash due i think he has much of a higher change to be in Smash due of a few Nintendo games BlazBlue have then Guilt gear really ^^;

Excellent moveset concept. The fighting game reps added to smash have proven to be some of the best additions to the series ever, and I think a Hyper Fighter rep like Sol or Ragna would be a straight improvement on even the other FG reps. Sol, I think is better fit than Ragna, due to having seniority, and BlazBlue's increased emphasis on violence, foul language, sex, and general 'edginess' making it a worse fit for smash in comparison to Guilty Gear's more 'fun' tone.
Oh, don't worry. That's not his middle finger, that's his index finger. Of course it'd still have to be changed, as Up yours is still not for "Good Boys and Girls".

i am not much a Guilty gear fan but it would be cool if he would be in Smash but i really would love to see Mostly Ragna the Bloodedge from BlazBlue in Smash due i think he has much of a higher change to be in Smash due of a few Nintendo games BlazBlue have then Guilt gear really ^^;

The fighting game reps added to smash have proven to be some of the best additions to the series ever, and I think a Hyper Fighter rep like Sol or Ragna would be a straight improvement on even the other FG reps. Sol, I think is better fit than Ragna, due to having seniority, and BlazBlue's increased emphasis on violence, foul language, sex, and general 'edginess' making it a worse fit for smash in comparison to Guilty Gear's more 'fun' tone.

Probably off-topic, and this might be my lack of fighting game experience talking, but I always thought BlazBlue and Ragna were ArcSys' flagships.
Blazblue is more or less Guilty Gear's spiritual successor. If Sol couldn't be Arcsys's rep then Ragna would definitely be the next choice for them.
Kirby should have access to a version of Dragon Install and Sol's final smash, just saying

I mean Sol doesn’t have the worst defensive options. His dp is one of the best in the game.
That statement is more in-line with the way it'd work in the context of Smash Bros as opposed to Guilty Gear.
