Hi I like your layout. and I think the faller car system is awesome just another idea how you can do it. u get a block of wood the width you want the wires apart. stick two pencils to each side of the block of wood and just draw out where you want the road. that way the wires will be the same width apart all the way round. Also I've seen another video on this where the guy just put the wire straight down on the base board then build the road up with bits of card till it was the same height of the wire then put the road bed over it he used that road way roll thing so you will have a unbroken roadway rather then having paper breaks in it.. just another idea for you
hi thanks for the comment, Like the idea with the wood only prob is only got 2 or 3 bits left to do.hope to have all road put down today and get another vid up next weekend. thanks for watching
Thank you for the great video on making roads. I have a few questions if you don't mind answering if you can.I noticed the road you are making in the video is wider then the one you had already completed. Can the roads be different widths? What type of wire needs to be used. Would any electrical wire work that's 1mm size? How do you glue the wire in place? You mentioned tape it in place. Was that to hold it until you glue it or was the tape the only thing you used to keep the wire in place?Thank you.D
yes i used 1mm thick card so the road wasn't to high that way i could use 2mm thick card for pavements etc. only thing is you do have to be really careful when grooving the lines for the wire, if you are to keen you go right through it. if your looking for the greyboard like i use you can get it off ebay , but because i buy it in bulk like a hundred sheets at a time i go online and buy it from paper-cutz. the good thing about doing it this way you can more or less make a road system to suit yourself. and you dont have to fork out 80 odd quid for the faller road groover .
Great video guys, looking forward to seeing the finished product. Cheers, Dan
