My Excuse is: I ONLY solo Q, I have a 1.5+KD, I always pick last and play support ops when needed, I always utilize drones on attack & use cams when dead on defence, I call out, I'm the only one to call out push strats & defence set up. I ALWAYS reinforce (walls, rotates, hatches, use utility), I have good positioning resulting in many kills, I never save KD and clutch alot, I shoot drones & cams. And im stuck in silver with a 50% W/L
One of the worse things in the world was this, this right here. I was actually okay with it with me because I was gold 1 every season and I only ever solo que'd. I was top of the leader board every game on my team, most frags, 1.9 K/D, sometimes pushing it to 2 K/D. But now, I'm washed, I stopped playing the game because I didn't have network. I came back and now, I'm just a trash player. I got older, slower. It sucks.
One thing I found that helped me when I started playing, granted this was at launch, was just playing every operator. You’ll learn different play styles like hard to play fast with ash or hold down site more defensively with doc. And you can dabble those play styles across the operators you end up maining. Don’t be afraid to die when you first start playing and when you do die don’t be upset just sit back and think “what could I have done differently?” Visualize rotating differently or holding a different angle. If at all possible record your gameplay too and watch it back after the match and see what you did well and what you could work on.
My frustration is that even if I play the best I can solo my teammates usually just leave if they dont do well. And I think a single person can win a round but it needs a team to win the match
I don’t solo que anymore because I’m lucky enough to have 2 friends I work with who also play. We only play with each other and are mid gold to low plat (because ranked 2.0 is dumb). Our problem is almost always the random teammates we get. We have to play nearly perfect because no one plays ranked with a mic, we’re against a team of max plats/emeralds with two coppers on our team, or just get ran by a Smurf hard carrying. It’s really hard for us to consistently win because of how inconsistent match making is. We are all getting better and have defined roles but there’s only so much you can do when you’re playing 3v5 every round.
Always love it when I'm solo q'ing and it's a 3v1 or 4v1 and my teammates decide to just run around like headless chickens hunting down that last kill just to watch them all die. And then if I don't win it I get yelled at for being trash....
My biggest piece of advice is not to be discouraged by what you see in other people. I remember Siege and Val being my very first FPS games, and I was god awful at them. I encountered Smurfs, I didn’t know anything, and it was so hard to learn. It took me two years to climb out of iron/copper, and right now I’m a silver/gold player in both games. Am I cracked out of my mind? Nope, negative K/D who loves playing support. But the people I play with always acknowledge that I’m consistent and reliable, and that’s my most important take away. Never let other people who get to gold immediately demotivate you. Most likely they’re on a new account and have just as much time as you do! Stats aren’t as truthful as you think, as I’ve had negative KDs go crazy and positive KDs go flaccid. You take YOUR time to learn and get better. No matter what speed it takes, and no matter how shit your KD/stats/whatever the fuck is
You’re totally right man, solo-queue is such a breeze. Solo-queue, where teammates have neither brains, balls nor microphone. I don’t play often, when I do it’s ranked and always on my own. Out of the 30+ games I’ve played this season teammates have had HELPFUL communication twice. Does that mean that’s the only times they’ve had mics? Oh no. No, at least half of those games these aforementioned hollow-headed apes have taken the time to wipe off their snot covered fingers to unmute, only to scream and complain that I couldn’t psychically determine where this nasally-cry baby was killed from; or that I couldn’t clutch the round after they tripped over their own saggy balls while rushing outside to kill a total of zero people. Solo-queue is and will always be a dice roll. You’re relying on not only a imperfect matchmaking system, but also that you’ll end up with teammates that have functioning neurones, out of the pool of dented-headed players which make up the majority of low-rank queues.
it’s easier to solo Q in higer ranks than lower ranks imo because you are more likely to get a vast skill difference in your teammates and enemies than in a higher rank where most people are capable to pull out a W (imo just speaking my mind)

5:33 I am bad at the game, but I should be at a higher rank. My problem is worse than solo queuing. I play with two friends that's I have to constantly carry. I just want to play with friends, so I have to play like MJ every game. Hell, I recently lost a game while getting 17 kills. One friend has a k/d of 1 while the other has a .4 k/d. There is not much I can do, unless I want to leave my friends behind. One friend literally mains kali and azami, but plays azami like castle; he is a true copper. The other friend needs aim labs and more map knowledge.
I know a lot of people say “if you can’t rank up, it’s on you,” but I think that’s bullshit. Your own skill will only get you so far & you’ll never climb as high as you can without a solid team.
One good piece of advice is to not be scared of losing elo. Kinda reiterating what he said in the vid, but you wont learn much out of playing a bunch of qms back to back. My problem is that I would usually avoid playing ranked because I was scared to lose or I didnt have a 5 stack, but I would lose even with said 5 stack. If you truely want to rank up and learn more about the game, you’ll need to learn to take losses and learn from your mistakes, this coming from a bronze 3 player.
Reality of solo is it should never be someone permanent way of playing. But it is for a lot of ppl because of a million excuses and refusal to do what ppl recommend to make gaming friends. Yea you should lose a lot in solo q. If solo q was easy and a sure fire way to win, then something is wrong with the game. People should really start watching their gameplay and see what it is they are doing wrong, be honest with themselves. No more excuses, you'll get better.
Been Playing since Year 1. I played 6 years of console as a Plat 1. Now Im on PC and I am Emerald 5. I think thats Plat right? Idk I came back to rainbow after Rank 2.0 My problem is im never consistent . Good some games, horrible other games. I play during the cold but stop playing during summer. So when I get back into rainbow. Its always hard to get back into the Meta.
I feel I’m ranking up too quickly like I went from copper 3 to bronze 1 in like 10 games and I feel I don’t have an opportunity to get better before the game gets harder

i dont think everyone can be champ, i play solo q and 5 stack too and its pretty hard once u get a xim player getting boosted with 4 more coppers, getting to kill a champ being everyone a plat or emerald its still kinda hard since they have no recoil

This may sound stupid, but its super difficult to find teammates as a girl who plays this game. I’m a PC player usually around high Emerald, almost Diamond but not quite (hopefully this season) and I can almost never find people that aren’t weird or incredibly mean/toxic when I use comms. But when I don’t use them, I’m missing out. Any advice or recommendations for finding people? I have a few good players/friends that I squad with but I’m trying to branch out more, especially during daytime hours.
How to escape from silver ? My team not killing, not peeking good operators. Hell. They don’t even fortify. 4 roamers without a kill. I have to hold site and fortify everything. Many games I have 3 people without a kill for 4 rounds. As ROAMERS ! I can’t carry every round. Sometimes I clutch but that’s not enough.
Solo or not. As soon as I win a game, I get matched up with multiple champs when I never even came all that close to emerald. Ranked 2.0 is the worst thing ever created and has no excuse to exist.
The problem with finding people to play with is they only wanna play if you do good. Once you have a bad game they disappear and never wanna play again.
