Looks great! Would love to visit. The line's website doesn't seem to provide a postcode though? Also, why are there so many LMS Maroon livery coaches on preserved lines? Not complaining, I like them, but they do seem to outnumber all the others!
@alanmusicman3385 If you're ever in the area please do. It's a wonderful line. :D If you look up the railway on Google it usually gives you the postcode. That's how I found it. I guess they were the standard colour of coaches of the time? I've seen a lot of dark green ones as well so it events it out a bit. But I get where you're coming from. Thanks for watching. :)
Yes, please do let us see the backwards view of the return trip. These were fantastic trains, and - if they'd been given a chance, might have generated enough passengers to save lines like the S&D; but the powers that be had decided the car was the future! I remember loving to ride on DMUs like this back in the 1960s and 70s - not all of them on rural branch-lines ....
@ricktownend9144 DMU's are a new thing to me, but in a way, I never realised that I have been travelling on DMU's all along on the main line. You don't really appreciate it until you visit a heritage railway. I'll upload it soon. :)
A number of years ago I was a member here. I arrived with my brother in law on an advertised open day to find nothing happening. Two guys on the other platform completely ignored us so we left the site. I subsequently found out the open day had been cancelled over row concerning the use of a DMU. I didn’t renew my membership.
@nigelfarley814 That's a real shame. So sorry to hear that happened. My hoping is after that time things have very much improved since then which is why many of the volunteers were very talkative to us during our visit.
