Brazil recovered from their own goal, Mexico were actually beating them 3-0 until Perisic scored a very late constellation goal, and Portugal thrashed them 4-1 in the UEFA Nations League. Meanwhile in Russia, Croatia did the handling themselves against Argentina. A terrible mistake, a long shot, and some other goal that led to a win for Croatia, who thrashed then 3-0. I think it's a cultural thing... Europeans are more disciplined and organized, Mexico (and most Latin American countries) have no discipline and no patience to plan for long term results. They always try to win on talent and effort only, but never on planning and discipline. It's such a waste of potential, not just for Mexico but for other super talented teams too like Colombia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, etc.
