I completely agree with the need to create and maintain the environment that allows players to grow and develop. That will inevitably produce the upward curve that you seek. However and this is the big one, there needs to be more honesty and acceptance of our failings on the pitch and from both players and coaches. Perhaps we the supporters have got the message wrong but we do perceive a certain degree of something along the lines of entitlement/arrogance where its almost an unwritten rule that one cannot criticise anything related to UR.
UuThe biggest thing for me is the 3G pitch. In relation to player development from one perspective it obviously works. However, from another perspective it turns Ravenhill into a training ground when there's one literally right beside it. Rugby to me should always be played on grass and that's the bottom line.
I've been watching Ulster for over 10 years and I never would ever be agianst them but I am in terms of the 3G pitch, with all the financial worries that are present this to me wasn't a good move.
I'm from kildare and big rugby armchair fan. I think it's so wrong the the 4 teams don't get the same funding from the irfu. The likes of Leinster should not be able to get players for the outher 3 teams.
