As a kid I had a book about an ice cream lady who had a VW camper van converted into an ice cream van. Turned out she was really a wolf and just using the van to lure her victims/lunch. I’m 44 now and the sight of one on the road still terrifies me.
I have the first edition in blue and white with all the toys and at 67k it's a lot of money but I know I won't lose on it
The best looking car from ID family
The Cd (coefficient of drag) being lower than the Alpine A110 is meaningless without considering the frontal area. The A110 will have a much small frontal area so overall likely generates *less* drag than the Buzz. Manufacturers love quoting just Cd because it's simple and easily compared, but it's of limited use without being multiplied by the frontal area. I'm a big fan of the Buzz though, but clarification on this oft misused measure is required.
You're probably right but not in every case. The Tesla Model X has a lower overall drag signature than a Lotus Elise.
@@wasdwasdwwasd Oh I wasn't suggesting that every such Cd-only comparison is incorrect, merely pointing out that making such a comparison without referencing and including frontal area is only telling half of the story. So while the comparison could be valid or invalid it's incomplete - and you can't determine the validity purely on just the Cd figure alone. It's like saying "Car X has more power than Car Y so therefore it's faster", well hold on a minute, Car X may, or may not, be faster, but you need to further substantiate that claim being made.
2500 kg?! no flat-folding floor? Stupid infotainment from the Mk8 Golf, and no rear window switches (same as 4-door golfs)?!
Sounds like a disaster.
Edit: and £57k is ridiculous.
I see your point, however using infotainment and parts from the same parts group has been the case for the past 20 years. To keep the costs down and margin higher.
@@Exemplifiera Yes it has. That's why it's such a travesty that VW got the ID.#'s and Mk8 Golf's infotainment so wrong... It will now infect their entire lineup before they realise the mistake and slowly update every car they make. It's going to be years of issues in usability - from a company that was known for usability and practicality!
Hope this is a huge success for vw. Fwiw I think vw should prodice a stripper version with a little 72 hp motor to recreate the original vw bus acceleration and price value relationship. If not at launch in the near future. Great review thank you from america. Your youtube channel reviews are personal favorites
I really like the environmental aspect of the interior
The thing is, the preceding (or even current) VW California was hardly a bargain itself; indeed I think it was similar money to this
What’s the CO2 production footprint?
Also, vegan leather is plastic, which is oil. Also a low Cx-value does NOT mean its slippier than an Alpine, as the real aero stat is spelled A*Cx where A is frontal area….
So in Canada, probably around 80k to 90k . Actually 86,392.32 wow !
The performance numbers should be better as well as the range . 300 mile range at the least and 500 mile range with the camper version , 0-60 in 4-6 seconds, dual motor all wheel drive with towing capability.
It feels like they could have created more inside the interior. This was the car where VW could have created a cottage industry similar to what’s already happening to Tesla Cybertruck. People wanted to..but it’s clear the product simply isn’t inspiring enough. I went from wanting one to not wanting one inside this review.
For the price I would buy a 1970s shell and make it electric
Insane. 57K ?? the world has gone mad
I wouldn’t touch an electric VW with a stick…
Just paid £65k for our first edition id buzz to find it doesn't have an electric boot or doors, very disappointing
I like it but only offering a 77kw battery makes it rather useless as a family vehicle.
Nice looking car but too expensive. For that price you can get a used Tesla Model X which comes with a 8 year warranty on the battery and 20 year warranty on the motor. The Tesla also has better range, charging network and superior software.
Any chance VW can fit a pano roof
Short answer no. Long answer no but maybe
Great review.
I’ve a 1st Edition on order in two tone yellow and white. Perfect daily run around when you have McLaren 600 LT Spider and Porsche 718 Spyder PDK in your garage to provide motoring thrills.
Its not worth, these prices are hideous!
CUTE. the car too.
So if it’s just more dead inertia I will buy the cheapest function going. It won’t be any different accept a paint job,a few pieces of trim and VAG badge.
In answer to the question... its absolutely not worth 57k!
they should make it a camper van
2 and a half tons empty imagine carrying people and luggage easily a 3-ton car going 100+ km/h, it doesn't seem too safe for anyone unlucky enough to be hit by it
Подключи Субтитры ! ! !
Then charging it with coal fired Hydro 👍😉
Compared to Vw T7 doesn't worth its.. it's like a modern bad copy of an icon 🥴
I thought the type 1 was the split window and the type 2 the bay window ….
I know it’s a van and not a car but come on you should have known that
Crazy I newer knew that …. Cheers bud I’ve been chatting rubbish all these years lol😂😂👍
No.
The car is UGLY, overweight and mostly OVERPRICED. I don't get all the hype about this car.
Well if we ignore the child labor mining the lithium then yeah it’s friendly 😂
Clown's car and way too expensive...
I would buy this …but with a diesel/petrol engine ! Electric cars are …meaahh
Perhaps VW could've made it more authentic by making the powertrain fill the cabin with smoke when going uphill.
Not just the cabin, every car behind you as well.
VW do love a good gassing after all...
