- We are outside Chicago in Union, Illinois visiting the Illinois Railway Museum - the largest railroad museum in the US. This enormous train museum displays many locomotives and a variety of transportation equipment. You can even take a ride in some of the trains! This place is truly incredible and a great option to visit if you're in the area.

Very nice plug for a great museum!
I went there today. We get to see every single locomotive they had in store and even drove one and it was my first time ever going to a railway museum and riding an actual steam locomotive and I hope I can go there again soon.

I’ve been there 5 times! I have been on the Frisco steam engine there and the zephyr. It’s always a good place for rail fans like my self, highly recommend going there

The have the second largest collection of steam locomotives, 27 of them. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy became the Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe Railroad.

Technically true, but according to the museum railroad's rulebook, a single locomotive is still officially considered a train.
