Buyee has always ultra bubble wrapped my orders, especially when I order huge lots $2000+ in value it’s still 1500yen for the bubble wrapping and it’s very worth it.
hey hey! just a small thing (and for anyone else whos reading), i noticed you complain about the different qualities in wrapping. the proxy service themselves doesn't package the items that way, the seller does it, and japanese sellers make sure their stuff is SECURE. i order can badges a lot, and its not uncommon to see the badges in their plastic protectors, then bubbled wrapped individually, then bubble wrapped around the entirety. it all depends on how the original seller ships it, which is why in one package you saw the games just loose, but in another the games were individually bubble wrapped. hope this clears that :)
Most banks do have conversion fees with foreign currencies, so that's probably why the converted price is a little more. Each bank can charge different amounts. As for Shipping, damn, you got screwed over. My roommate and I have been using Buyee for a couple years and usually pay about 10-15 dollars on average for shipping. We usually get things off Yahoo Auction though, since the App is good at giving notifications and the auctions end up ending at much lower prices that equivalent products on Mercari.
@@ratumosesebokia5151 I've only bought a pokewalker with the lite plan but I'd say it was fine. It came in a bubble mailer and there was not damage. Can't say what it would be like for a combined order though
hey, can you still buy from yahoo auction? for me, every item i see is unavailable for purchase (when shopping through buyee). otherwise the site as a whole is banned as i live in the EU
Be cautious when buying on Buyee - there’s no protection from dishonest sellers. I bought an item that was advertised as being in “excellent condition,” but when it arrived, it had a large tear and other serious damage that made it unusable. Despite choosing the highest protection plan with inspection and insurance, Buyee refused a return or refund, claiming that the damage wasn’t visible in the seller’s photos. The seller had only shown photos from angles that hid the flaws and described the item as being in “excellent, like-new condition.” Buyee’s response was that, since the defects weren’t visible in the seller’s photos (obviously because the seller intentionally avoided showing them to deceive), they couldn’t verify the issues. This means they assumed the defects didn’t exist, and even though I reported them and provided photos within an hour of receiving the item, it made no difference. It turns out there’s literally no buyer protection at all - sellers can easily mislead you with selective photos and descriptions, send an item in terrible condition, and Buyee will refuse to help. In other words, there’s absolutely no buyer protection.
hi I had similar problems and even more ridiculous is that in one dvd package there is no disc inside, I reported it to buyee together with the fact that the booklets had water stains and paper got stuck together. Buyee just replied that the disc itself was not shown on the photo offered by the seller and they ignored the fact that the seller is selling DVD, which means the disc itself is was he sells. They also ignored totally the info “Without noticeable stains or scratches.” written on the product page and says that they only check if the products look like the photo on the site. I’m writing a claim to mercari since it’s their partner and I’m really angry about their attitude. I paid for their check service and they’re just not doing their job and ruined my Christmas. I paid in total around 400 euros for those dvds.( incl. service tax and transportation)
It feels like Buyee is doing the same as what PayPal is doing. If you pay in your currency (let's just say USD) for an item that you're paying a different currency for (like JPY), Paypal is going to give you its own exchange rate, which is 5-10% worse than paying with your bank's own exchange rate. I did the math a lot of times with a lot of currencies and I had 5-10% better payments without using PayPal's own currency exchange rate. That is the default and when you're trying to change that, Paypal is trying to freak you out, but at least for me, it was better for me every single time. Buyee probably has the same exchange rate conversion method. I used Sendico many times now and I only had issues with items that can not be exported from Japan, so that is not even their fault.
300 yen is very low for a service fee which is currently £1.49 ($1.90 US). I've never paid more than 800 yen in total for the service fee, inspection and insurance. I've ordered from Buyee quite a few times now and I have to say they're very good when it comes to making sure everything is well protected and they'll even re-package anything if needed (I've never had anything arrive damaged so far). I also tend to buy items where the seller pays for the domestic shipping within Japan to the warehouse and then Buyee will send me a choice of postage options when they have the package... So far the prices from Japan to the UK have been pretty fair and I always get a better deal compared to using eBay for imported games and consoles from Japan. I'm happy to continue using them.
As I know shipping price mostly depends on the box size and if paying, let's say, 40$ for console shipping is normal, what's about less valuable products that are the same size?
‘From japan’ proxy is the main one I use - ordered several large orders from japan with ‘from japan’ and fees are less than buyee and the items were always really well packaged with cling film and separated from each other at no extra cost.
I used Sendico to buy four older Aibos (two 111s, a 210, a 311) and was told not to trust Buyee to handle Aibos properly. Sendico did a fantastic job with all four, they each were well packaged and shipped without issues.
Eh I’ve used Buyee before, they were fine. I remember they will generally pack orders as they get them, unless you tell them specifically through email to get rid of the packaging it came in to consolidate further
Tip if you wanna see how much the mainland shipping is you should be able to go to the official listing and itll be somewhere in the infocard. Buyee has links to the official listing and i would assume sendico has them too
Can you do FromJapan? I wonder how their shipping is. I ordered a gacha (capsule) toy, and before am about to ship it says my package is like 30cm x 30 x 20cm I was like what??? the toy was like 5x 5 x 2 cm at most.
they hardly have any packages that small, they usually take a bigger volume package but usually the weight of the package is important for the shipping price
Buyee Air Delivery option will be their choice (not yours) of DHL Express, UPS Express, or FEDEX Express (based on the weight, and the dimensions of the package). For example, if it is a fairly light package, with small dimensions, then they will probably choose DHL, and if it is fairly heavy, with large dimensions, then they will probably choose UPS. That has just been my experience with Buyee though. I always hated that I could not choose, because personally, I would also choose UPS Express, because that has been by far the fastest, in my experience (getting delivered to me in the US, literally overnight, in most experiences).
The only reason I use buyee is for Zoids. They are much cheaper in Japan than trying to get them in North America even with the extra shipping and fees. The same Zoids cost literally 2-4 times more on eBay.
I don't like Buyee, they make packages heavier to charge you much more. they added random cardboard pieces without any sense to my package just to charge me more. Like seriously ?? the fees are way to high too. Never buying stuff from Buyee again.
@Arbysroastbeefjuice If anything I'd say it was better, FedEx in my country drop kick and toss packages regardless of fragile labels, so I'll take extra weight if it helps protect the item from those wa*k*rs. They also magically lose packages for multiple weeks either because there's not enough deliveries on route and pretend you missed it or just don't check the shelf and it sits for weeks.
i bought a front subframe for my y33 for 35$ shipping is going to be roughly 600$ .... it should be like 250$-300$ shipping idk if i should send it , because you cant find parts for these cars, an i really need it . but money is tight
Mean my experience last time was expensive since I had to pay 150 for the shipping and handling, this time I'm not sure. Hopefully the cheaper DHL option without heavy import fee is available this time, if so I'll definitely start using it more
as someone whos use buyee since the beginning of the current decade i thinking maybe its time to move to sendico or zen market. i love buying with coupons on mercari in buyee but recently the coupons sucks, 7% on video games? its use to be 10%-20%. also buyee started o cancel my packages too much recently. i don't know if its because the typhoon that recently happened or other reasons but its actually make me think to move out from buyee. also paying in usd sucks! rather pay in yen.
I have many orders cancelled on me as well, its about 2 in 10 orders, it often happens because the sellers either refuse to deal with proxy services anymore, alot of these japanese sellers either are racist or for some reason dont want these items to be shipped outside of Japan (like they think japanese people might take better care of these items, dunno) but also the sellers will list their items on all kind of sites at the same time but then kinda forget to remove them from all sites after it has been sold on one of them. its a bit annoying and buyee can not really do much about it, its the sellers fault . One time I have been blocked by the seller on an auction so I wasnt able to bid again because I was a proxy buyer, they really can block people from the bidding list, so I only put in bids last minutes anymore so they dont have time to decide to block me from bidding. They should be happy to get more money for their stuff, more competition = better, but well, it shouldnt reach a foreigner... great, then I will have to fly to Japan to buy it in person because they wont let me have it online, but japanese people hate all these tourists ,so yeah, their fault if I have to go there lol
Yall, i need a verdict, im planning on buying a bulk thing of 4 small kirby plush and a big one for a total of 16.03 cad, ya think its a scam?
I have been using Buyee for many years, buying pool cues, and other billiards related stuff, and they are a very legit, and honest company, I believe. Probably at least 50% of all the pool cues I purchased (which weighed around 2 lbs), the Air (DHL) shipping costs were only under $30. Here is the thing though, Buyee will not alter the box the item is in, or use a smaller shipping box if possible. They claim to have no shipping boxes of their own to use, so they much use whatever packaging that came from the seller. Unfortunately, in many cases, the seller shipped my pool cue items in very large boxes, that were much larger than they needed to be, so due to the large dimensions, the package had to go UPS Express (when choosing Buyee air delivery option), and I have have to pay $80-$100 for the shipping cost of a pool cue shipment. So, I do not feel that they are ripping my off, because it is coming from Japan, and the boxes are very large, so I am understanding about that. I just can't imagine the costs being much less. Like I said, in many cases, I am only paying under $30 for DHL Express shipping (again, Buyee Air Delivery shipping option). In any case, Buyee is a super fast shipping.
