This is a speedrun of Sonic 3D Blast DX: Director's Cut in 36:34.37 to all emeralds.

✩ Game Description ✩
Sonic 3D Blast, known in Europe and Japan as Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island, is a 1996 platform game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series for the Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn. As Sonic the Hedgehog, the player embarks on a journey to save the Flickies, birds enslaved by Doctor Robotnik. The player must guide Sonic through a series of themed levels to collect Flickies and defeat Robotnik. Though it retains game mechanics from prior Sonic games, Sonic 3D Blast is differentiated by its isometric perspective, with pre-rendered 3D models converted into sprites.
Sonic 3D Blast Director's Cut is a comprehensive rebalancing and reworking of Sonic 3D Blast made by Jon Burton, the game developer behind it. Features of DX:
▶ Map Screen - Allows you to replay any level in various modes to collect all the hidden medals and emeralds;
▶ Super Sonic Added - Collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds and then 50 rings and a jump and spindash to toggle! Super Sonic has Power Sneakers, Homing attack and Invincibilty;
▶ Time Challenge Mode - Race against the clock to finish the level. No Flickies to collect, just a dash to the exit;
▶ Rebalanced Handling - tighter controls, faster turns, higher top speed, more accurate platforming - and a lot less slowing down on slopes and gettting snagged on edges;
▶ Gamplay Overhaul - Only lose 1 Flicky on hit, bounce off enemies with Power Sneakers, and if you have no rings the Flickies take the hit for you. Plus much more;
▶ Password Save Game - Keep track of your attempts to get to 100% with a save game password;
▶ Reworked HUD - Now includes Score and Time, as well as a Flicky Radar!;
▶ Prototype Crab! - Original prototype creature remapped and re-instated into the game;
▶ Level Editor - Play around with the level editor used to place all the objects in the game. Not for the faint-hearted;
Improved Collision - Enemies are easier to hit, and objects are generally easier to interact with;
▶ Reworked Camera - Gives you much better anticipation especially at speed, and the Boss Fights are framed much better;
▶ Palette Changes - The Bonus Stages now have palettes that match the level they are accessed from, and Green Grove and Sonic are closer to the Classic palette;
▶ Bug Fixes - Snowman insta-death? Gone. Sliding through moving plaforms? Not anymore!

Love how Shiro didn't pick up rings when he has exactly enough rings to continue so this so-good genesis music channels won't be muted in the special stages👍.

I always thought that Super Sonic would be available in the original Sonic 3D blast, but unfortunately it is not in the original but only in the DX version, also Sonic walking on lava without a fire shield just letting that sink in for a sec.

Honestly man. A Newgame+ run of this would be so fun to watch since the change they made to limit how fast you can get all 7 emeralds means there is a lot of content that you can't see at the higher level of speed.

If we ever get a TaxStealth-Style remaster of Sonic 3D Blast, Sega needs to use this as a base for the game, albiet without the password system and maybe the one emerald per zone rule along with the ability to customize the game’s graphics and sounds between the Genesis & Saturn versions. Although who knows how the Special Stage will be handled.

I was wondering why you did weird stuff in the special stages until I realized the one or two exrta rings you would pick up would make that slightest time loss on the score

I've been wondering this for some time now, but how come you were stopping at a number before the exact number of rings collected (49 --> 50, 99 --> 100, 149 --> 150) in the special stages? Are you not worried you'll miss a ring before reaching the checkpoint? Just wondering.
This is TAS where I can use savestates.
@@ShiroParadox99 Oooohh, savestates. I always exceed the number of rings to make it easier for me to clear a special stage in Sonic 2. I'm sorry if this is no way related to Sonic 3D Blast by the way. I never played it before!😂

@@Melonposting Bruh. It's a sort of remake of the original, by adding extra features and rebalancing the game. So the creator named it DX, just like Sonic Adventure DX/Director's cut, that's it. Did you read the description?

this has made me realize how bad of a game 3d blast is, almost every sound effect is reused, can’t wait to see what they do with 4d blast
It uses the same sound engine as Sonic 3, which is wise to save time.
Which also isn't saying much considering Sonic 2 and 3 reuse plenty of sound effects that originated from Sonic 1. Again, to save time.
