In this video, we are sampling and preparing some ceiling tile for a mail in asbestos test. This at home asbestos test kit will identify if our ceiling tile sample has asbestos. If the sample tests positive for asbestos, we will need to follow special protocols for removal and disposal. The ceiling tile in the video looks like it could be cellulose but to be sure, we want to have it tested. Asbestos can be found in many older construction materials. The sample we took was considered friable but this test kit can also be used for non friable samples like floor tiles. Thanks for this video. Assuming the tiles are asbestos, is there not still a risk to disturb even one tile to check it? On our ceiling, there are no loose tiles, we’d have to disturb one to get a sample

this video already provides comprehensive tips on safety precautions and protective equipment and sampling is also clearly demonstrated here. Cutting off a small material sample is absolutely no problem if you follow the safety instructions properly.

That dust mask in the kit isn't going to protect you from asbestos. You need a P100/N100 respirator mask.

those specific tiles, its actually the paint/paper that can be asbestos not the tile itself
