Just bought one two days ago from a UK seller (and I live in Canada with a different voltage and plugs!). This model has been released in North America as well, but without the RDS radio and the cassette deck was only sold optional in Japan and Europe only.
The Cassette Deck sounds great when plugged into the Sony DHC MD373 system but cannot be played on a stereo separates system as the sound is awful. Why???
You Can't. The PLL set up for 9KHZ steps. This is a European setting. USA uses 10KHZ steps. Slightly better bandwidth on AM in USA but doesn't work with with European PLL tuners.

Same. Slot loading cassette decks are my favorite, and the Sony TC-TX’s were one of the few slot loading decks made for homes instead of cars.

I have a problem and I don't remember how to solve it….I want to tune in an AM 710 and it tunes in AM 711. Do you know what to do to solve it???

if you still have this system, does the cassette deck work on its own if its not connected to this system? can you use it as a standalone player?
You would still need to connect it to some sort of amplifier but it can be used without the shown Minidisc/Amp section.
