Sunsun 603 Pre-Filter for 75 Gallon Goldfish Tank!

- I bought this to go on the baby fish tank but the fitting are 16mm and the baby canisters are 12mm. The 75 gallon has 16mm and could always use extra filtration so I measure it out and it fit pretty much exactly perfect in the right side of this cabinet stand.

I really recommend this over the pvc tubing that comes with Sunsun filters, softer and easier to work with.
If I sound tired, I am. My 6 yr old got the Norovirus that is going around and was up all night dealing with barf & diarrhea 😊.
I found there is a Sunsun 604B that's even better but they don't sell them in the states, small bucket like this filter but about 2-3 inches wider and taller and that one had its own unique pump that is 14w more than double the 6w that comes on the 602b & 603b.
I can't find the canister itself anywhere but I found where you can buy the 16mm replacement motor from China. I'm going to buy one and make a custom 603b using a stronger motor for the baby tank. I think that will be a fun project. 😊
Sunsun 604b might be the perfect small canister for small tanks. I'm surprised they aren't sold here, found them on AliExpress today. The 14w motor turns 211 gph, the canister itself is 14" inches tall and 7 1/2" inches wide. I want one lol
I"m revisiting this idea of pre-filtering. Thanks for the tubing link. I can't find the SunSun prefilter EW-603 on amazon. I tried to purchase it a few years ago but give up trying to source it. I already pre-filter on the intake, but honestly its a bit of a pain, and I'm thinking just to use quick disconnect to a pre-filter canister under the tank might be easier.

What filter are you using? Hw 404b? I want to buy a pre-filter, but don't know if it will fit in my HW 404B

Hey man, never saw your comment. I'd look for a 16mm hose made by Sunsun or that has good reviews. I ordered one on Amazon that actually would expand and slip off because of the Temps I keep my tanks at 79-80.
How do you prime the little filter? Does just pressing the plunger on the bigger filter prime the smaller one too? That's my biggest worry before I pull the trigger on getting one of these to daisy-chain with my 704A.
Ya it does. Bigger filter lines smaller just have to fill it up with water to the top.
