Thank you for your work!!! Always brilliant . We miss Boot camp tips though.
Just downloaded it. Amazed by how clear the eq is. Most sources would sound muddy, having 130hz boosted, not this with this unit. The high end brings out that clarity, which many other eq's just don't seem to have.
bro it would be great if you examine the harmonics and the frequency curve, I know it would take more video time but that would also take the review of the plugin to another level
Barely heard any significant difference in any setting. Folks need to really push this to extremes so that we can actually hear what it's doing.
Granted it is difficult to hear, whether that be from YT or just hearing it objectively, tying it today, it is amazing, super clear, transparent, similar to the EMI TGI 12345 desk, emulations from certain other companies, just better.
It's rare to see 7 fixed sweet spot bands with stepped gain and no Q control. Making it extremely user-friendly. This takes away much of the guesswork and saves a lot of time.
To me it sounds more refined than API 550/560. Also it adds depth and dimension to the sound in a Pultec fashion.
It has a hint of the EMI TGI12345 mastering desk, super clear with extremely transparent highs and lows. I didn't think it would be that amazing, that said UAD is amazing, and it is no exception with this eq. Most other eq's claiming this sense of clarity would tend to buckle on the high end, or get muddy in the low end, not this one.
@@MKD371 Agree. UAD are the best at making emulations. I think they are the only ones that make end-to-end emulations and work with the original designers of the gear.
@@directed6924 Yes, that is the case. UAD are the only company, as far as I am aware, to do end to end emulations. which is why their plugins look almost identical compared to the real device including having the actual name of the device. Other company have to give it a nickname, or pseudonym.
@@MKD371 The GUI plays an important role. It's more satisfying to look at the "real thing" and turn knobs. It also helps to understand the techniques that's been used for decades in top studios.
@@directed6924 Exactly, I never get people who say it is not important, they want a 2d gui with no frills, fine possibly, but seeing the unit is totally valid and informative.
Great review as always, thanks! It certainly has a very unique sound to it. A bit overpriced in my opinion, though, specially for existing customers...would certainly think about getting it when it goes on sale, though, but right now I think charging $299 for it is a bit of a joke. They're obviously trying to push the whole Spark subscription thing, which I'm certainly not a fan of.
The Kit Plugins MO-Q is another Motown plugin of the same unbranded EQ from Blackbird Studios. I wonder why these Motown Plugins are coming out all of a sudden, and at the same time, either way they're cool for sure, and nice that the UA comes with a Mastering EQ too.
People are looking for a more analog sound these days without using hardware
I really wish they made a 1/2 and x2 frequency switch to get access to higher frequency choices for more midrange material. But otherwise this is awesome and they really needed some type of dedicated EQ in their Spark toolkit (besides the Neve & API - which the API is much more flexible). Happy to see this addition!
My go to channel for new plugins
Thanks again Mike. I will demo these.
I'll wanting to get your take on the God Particle plugin.
Hi Mik, I've been following you for some time now, and I think you are amazing at what you do. I was listening to Rolling in the deep by Adelle just now and I am wondering if it's possible to achieve that kind of mix in the box. I mean the vocals are so clean, and creamy, If this is possible then I would like to learn.
You don't have to subsrcibe. Just buy it and use without any UA gear
If it’s a hit song it don’t matter if it’s not a hit it don’t matter everything basically sounds great. At this point is truly about the songwriting.
it looks like i have to get one satellite and the softube, realy good change and even after the master attenuation
Huh, i found at last needed chanel
Nice, I’ve actually been loving the Kit Plug-in’s recent release of the 1st EQ via their ‘MO-Q’ 🎛✨
The KIT BN105 is killer, the best EQ/Preamp in my arsenal. Just got he MO-Q and running it in the latest mix I'm working on, Very nice.
BB N105 is stellar...and their Motown MO-Q is $79 vs $300 for UA
Have you compared the UAD vs KIT Plugins MO-Q? I like the MO-Q also but haven't compared it against the UAD.
MO-Q is scam, t=dont have any color just parametric eq with predefined shapes. not for me@@martijnvandongen
