    Really appreciate your lessons Coach Phillip. in answer to your question, I prefer to have at least bit of face to face at the start, to set the scene, and then move into the schematics. It's YOU and the amazingly sincere and deeply felt wish you have to to really teach us, that is as important as what you are teaching, and that dynamic is best set by saying hello "in person" right at the start. Thanks gain, for a the brilliant squash channel.

      Thanks for the feedback. I think you are right. I'll just need to get the balance right between face-to-face and overdub. I've been thinking about creating a short, separate "Solo Practice Principles" video, which I can simply direct viewers to. That should save some time for viewers who have watched the previous routine videos.

      I agree, maybe just a small hello and introduction. The rest of the format is great, solid sound and great explanation!

      Yeah, you are both right. I'll do that for the next one, along with some other improvements.

      Great to hear you got back into squash. It's like a drug, you can live without it for a while, but eventually you have to partake again. I'm not a "reaction" watcher, but you have a great channel. Send me a short video of you playing and I'll offer some advice.

    With the video style, I thin I slightly preferred you looking at the camera, your positive/motivating body language shows on those! This style isn't a bad thing though!
    Good to see you're back at posting new content! Very informative as per usual :)

    Right front corner drives: how the heck do you make the ball came back to you?

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  Рік тому

      I really should have shown that shot from behind the player - sorry about that.
      To get the ball to come back to you, you need to hit the front wall first and quite close to the side wall. Each time, you might need to make a small adjustment, but with some practice you should be able to do it. Remember, start slow and only increase the hitting speed when you can control the ball.

      @@BetterSquash First of all many thanks for such a quick response! Is it possible that you have to cut the ball just a tiny bit from the inside to get some spin on the ball? Or do you just hit flat into the front wall? It´s a though one for me it seems, since I am trying it already several months;-)
      Anyway, I very much appreciate your instructions in general, other tasks seem manageable after a while and help me big time to become more controlled.

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  Рік тому

      You shouldn't need to cut it, but that might help. Several months is a long time to try, if you want to, send me an email to phillip@bettersquash.com and attached a short video of you doing the drill, I'll have a look and offer some feedback.

    Hi Coach Phillip
    Thank you very much for all your wonderful video and clips and advises. You are also excellent in replying as I requested an advice few years back and you kindly replied.
    Despite those years, I am still a beginner who is unable to return the ball from the back wall. Also my side to side tends to drift away and the best for me is 15. Last but not least, I cannot control the ball and it does no go where I want (keeping head still and looking at the strings still not helping).
    Thanks again for all you videos, posters and all your efforts.

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  5 років тому

      It's hard for me to say exactly why you haven't improved. I will be making a video about returning the ball of the back wall soon. If you are not improving, it's time to change you training. Consider getting on court and doing 2 practices: 1. Starting very near the frontwall and one sidewall, hit the ball back to yourself and after 3 shots move one strep away from the frontwall. DO this until you are near the back wall. Then begin to move towards the frontwall again. 2. Start near the frontwall and one sidewall and hit 3 shots back to yourself, now instead of moving towards the back wall, move towards the other sidewall.
      These two exercise focus on hitting the ball straight, but varying the height and hitting the ball at very slightly different angles (Away from yourself and towards yourself). Both are key to moving your opponent around the court.

    Excellent presentation and worksheet! I try this workout yesterday. I don't advise to use a timer on your phone's speaker .. Because the sound of the ball is too loud especially during the side to side :)

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  5 років тому

      I'm glad you like it. yes, a timer of the phone might not be the best idea. Some phone app timers have flashing lights I believe. I have used a very cheap kitchen clock with the second-hand visible.

      Squash Coach Phillip Sir i am a beginner player. Please suggest me some tips so that i can improve my gameplay.

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  5 років тому +1

      1. Serve accurately and get to the T IMMEDIATELY.
      2. Hit the ball higher on the front wall to make sure it gets to the back.
      3. Try to stretch for the last step - don't keep moving forward after you hit the ball.
      4. Watch good players *Not professionals) and see what types of shots they hit.
      Good Luck!

    • @BetterSquash
      @BetterSquash  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry for the late reply. Start slow and keep the swing short, increase the power once you feel more confident. Focus on the frontwall, as it is the deciding factor.
