I assume (wrongly i guess) there is some type of impeller on the drive shaft connected to the PTO? when not "powered" does this not create drag on the shaft? or is it an "open" circuit so no pressure/drag is created in the system?

Great idea, way better to than a wing engine and folding prop.

Only if the problem is not with the shaft or propeller, then you need another one.

Hi, are you sure that a 24kw genny will propel a heavy boat like the NH at 5 knots.....i assume 2-3 knots only.
