    It's not everyday you find a great player and teacher in one person. As a beginner on the steel guitar, your video is extremely helpful to me! I look forward to any future videos that you might share. Thank you!

    You're teaching chunks. The first lick is an ascending 3 and a descending 3.
    The second is a with the B pedal lick is a circular 6 OR a circular 7.
    Then the third lick is a circular 8 with an ascending 4 and a descending 4. When you improvise, you play a different lick made of separate descending 4's. Please explain those chunks.

    Fantastic...so helpful. Any chance of a volume pedal lesson..no one seems to be doing that. I would buy it for sure. Thanks again.

    Thank you for puplishing.. One thing I am not sure if I got you correct: you mention that right hand bouncing at the beginning of the vid. At the end you say: "as I raise the speed, the right hand is not even moving....... so no bouncing?
    Is it a must to block the bouncing way to master this exercises?
    Or a choice and it will also work with blocking with the fingers? I am used to that and bouncing would be another Thing to learn...............
    Again thanks for sharing, very appreciated

      The bouncing motion is just one of many techniques. That should only be used in when you prefer it. For very fast tempos though, you will notice the right hand is going to stay in place more. When it comes down to blocking you it is really a process of experimentation. Much like a golf swing. Players can show you over and over what they do but at the end of the day you just have to take that knowledge and then work it into what works for you. So as for blocking you just have to ultimately find the techniques that give you the cleanest approach.

    Zane, you are the man. I am confused. When do you use the B pedal as you run the scale?

    • @ZaneDonnaKing
      @ZaneDonnaKing  5 років тому

      Just as soon as you hit the G# string. It's really fast. It's almost like you don't even engage the pedal all the way...it's just a short fast motion.

    • @richardgraubard404
      @richardgraubard404 5 років тому

      @@ZaneDonnaKing do you engage it at every fret, every other fret? I don't hear it on the open fret. I hear it on the second fret and then I get lost.
