Metroid Prime 21% Segmented Speedrun in

This is a low% speedrun of Metroid Prime done in 16 segments. Segment 1 was played on 4/28/2024 and the run was finished on 7/15.
When I started this run it was intended as semi-serious practice for future single-segment runs, and the first few segments weren't particularly tight (see the 5:06 frigate escape). As the run went on however, I began to realize it could be faster than the single segment WR (1:33), so that became my goal, then eventually sub-1:30. This run was a learning process and there are a lot of things I'd do differently in the early going (Zoid segment should be combined with the previous one, for example) but my overall level of play greatly improved over the course of the run as well.
This follows the same route as that single segment WR, with one major exception in the inclusion of Early Newborn and the associated long crawl through lower Mines. This trick and the associated re-route (segments 10 and 11) are really the centerpiece of this run. Unfortunately segment 11 is a monster as we don't pass near a save station until after Mines; this is where I had to be the most lenient on time loss as I value my sanity.
In terms of execution, the highlight IMO is segment 13, with a clean Phen's Edge and Frozen Pike. I am also very proud of the Thardus Hop I got in #14 (even if the rest of the segment is a little sloppy).
