  • Here's a snippet from the Wikipedia about the Carpenter Canyon trail...
"Carpenter Canyon is accessible via State Route 160 and Carpenter Canyon Road near Pahrump. Carpenter Canyon Road is a minimally maintained dirt road reaching roughly 10 miles into the mountains and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. A clearwater stream, the Carpenter Canyon Creek, runs through Carpenter Canyon the entire year, supporting a small population of trout, which is uncommon in the Spring Mountains and Mojave Desert."

Trout. Can you believe it? Well, unfortunately, the creek is no longer there. Earlier this year, Las Vegas received a lot of heavy rain. It caused a flood in the Canyon which devastated parts of the original trail. Some of us from Vegas4Lo decided to go and see for ourselves what the trail conditions actually looked like. I led our very small group up until the trail became unrecognizable from the line on my OnX map. That’s when my bud Jay took over and led us on several detours snaking our way to our final destination.
Went: Jay P. (Yellow Wrangler), Joe P. (Blue Gladiator), Elfira J. and Daniele C. (Red Bronco)

trails been cleared. easy ride up almost feels like they paved the road. Pin striping is now avoidable throughout the trail.
