Simon I bought a Mk4 5 door TDI 150 model last year with two lady owners garages from new with 58,900 on the clock with full dealer history. She was having knees replaced and so needed an automatic. I saw advert in Chard where both owners were from. The car has AC elec roof etc all nice immaculate external condition. 2k I called and was told a trader had just called and would be coming tomorrow. I convenience her I could come today and offer £200 over went down there and could not believe my eyes. She was very emotional saying good bye and I was very emotional saying hi! 😂 it’s now done 65k and worth double what I paid. Have a company car but when I want to have fun I use the golf. Really well built reliable engine and great all rounder
I’ve owned my 2004 Mk4 VW Golf 1.9 GT TDi 130 since brand new. Great car, very powerful and economic too. Its in the Storm Beige paint colour, and has the full cream leather interior which is still like brand new inside and outside. It’s just got 47,500 genuine miles from new at present time.

i have a grey TDI Mark 4 Golf. 3 door hothatch. 96kw engine stock but it has a map tune so it has around 120kw. Just enough for a first car to have, and the car is an amazing drive even though it's a front wheel drive. and if i can drive it 5.5L/100km / 51.3imperial MPGs, it's Cheap to drive too

I own the MK4 gt tdi, currently on 260.000 miles, drives like the day I bought it with 44.000 on the clock. Best car i have ever owned, good fuel economy. If you service them when needed using good quality products, they will serve you well.

When someone is following you too close you hit the evry mod switch and dump the car in 3rd or 4th and it should haze/black out anyone that's too close. Some people use their powers for good/evil. Or their injection pump timing is off.
No wonder I haven't bought one yet, this looks as dull as dish water and acceleration is slower than the MK2 Golf GTi I had at the time. However the one I am supposed to be getting soon is considerably faster than even my current BMW 330CD. I'm not asking any questions, then I can't tell any lies as I know very little about diesel golfs. I drove it and said I'd buy it if he ever sells it, that's all I know.
Just like to make a mention that if you look at it in the sense of fumes per mpg then you are indeed saving the inviroment. these cars make a whole 50+ yes a 50+ mpg rating VS. a Gas which makes maybe into the 35 ish mpg mark. I've personally made 55+ somewhere in there. GO TURBO DIESELS!!!!!! keep rolling that coal!
Yes it was called Golf GT TDI. the early ones had non pd engine 110hp ASV engine code. I know the us got the ALH engine but no ASV. Obviously later on there was all the various PD engine versions sharing the same MK4 platform.
I agree, especially with the main lights on, front indicators hard to see. I used to love the Mk1 Golf it had the indicators completely separate in the front bumper!
I don't know where people are getting the chocolate camshafts from concidering all of engines have the same camshaft from pd100 to pd160 I've just recently sold a pd150 that has original camshaft with 265k on it it was also just shy off 340bhp people having problems with camshaft with any less than 200k must be putting in sawdust instead of oil

its called tuning and a straight pipe usually
You can't change the pump timing on PD diesel engines. It's pump per injector, driven directly by the camshaft.

Early mk4 golf gt tdi produced 110hp it was not a pd engine but a BOSCH ve mechanical pump, engine code was ASV. and it was called the GT TDI.
