I lived here from 1976-1985, started school there until the 8th grade before moving out. Have visited several times since. The town has changed so much ever since I moved. My relatives run the D&E Foodcraft which was owned and run by my aunt and uncle, who passed away in 2018. My nephew works as a First Responder. Many of my old classmates still live there while others who moved elsewhere come back to Zapata to see old classmates and attend school reunions. I have to say that the Zapata County Fair is the biggest event that the town has it going for them in which it brings the whole town to it. I definitely love the food of El Paraiso! I have heard that Zapata is popularly known for hang gliding. I used to go swimming at Falcon Lake at Mauro's and Paradise Point, went boating a few times, but in 2009 I have heard that going boating has become dangerous due to illegal drug activity from the Mexican side.
Hunted in Zapata Co since 2011. Love this town. Truth be said mainly only there for the deer season and maybe twice out side of the season. But can definitely relax here.
My home town 👌🏽 the other side of the bridge is Zapata also
Ty so much for coming in or plas
This is awesome. I cant wait to get to the states
Awesome! What country are you from? De donde eres?
I love Zapata, TX. Not much but there, but it's a great peaceful town. Just stay away from Larado, TX. Or just be very vigilant if you do decide to visit.
Trust me it looks nice but it's not what it looks like
Its a very corrupted town.
And there's multiple drug house's.
The middle and high schools you can find teenages using drugs. And the onea that don't are afraid to go outside.
It's an isolated town.
I was living there for a few months and im glad i left as soon as possible.
They are only showing you what they want you to see.
The Government needs to step in and clean up that town.
Brit Trips, I listened over and over, but I couldn't tell if it's pronounced in good Spanish (sah-PA-tah) or bad/Anglicized Spanish (zah-PA-tah). Please set me straight. Thanks.
It’s pronounced sah-PA-tah. 👍🏽
