I never thought you would do it and when I saw it I was wow. He actually did it. It's amazing. Thanks for this. I'll try to do something similar but I'll choose blue. Blue and charcoal. I've got a new challenge for you for a série of 5 or 7 videos. Can you paint feelings. To paint in 15 something with a color that represents a feeling for you, like happiness, sadness, etc. Thanks so much 😊
Haha...your suggestion came at a good time. I had something similar near the top of my list and it was video day, so I made a quick change and worked it in. I'll add the feelings suggestion to my list. Enjoy doing the challenge!😊
Thanks, Gailie! Definitely give it a try! Prompts are great for sparking new ideas and techniques-so glad you found something fun in the process. And I love that you spotted an earring!
Another favourite vid ❤ Chris, this is like mindreading. I was just thinking to myself, i ought to do some monochrome exercises... you're a purist with just water and paint. Like colour "fasting". Will give it a go. 😊
Great challenge - at first, I thought "oh no, not for me". Then when a ghostly image appeared, I knew there are definitely possibilities. Chris, can you mention sometime, if you use fixative? Thanks, as always.
Thanks, Ann! I use Krylon Workable Fixative primarily prior to varnishing when I have something like charcoal that might smear. I plan on doing a longer video on finishing art, so I'll be sure to cover the fixative in that.
I like it upside down, theres a stretched or elongated mushroom head guy and some organic digits or fingertips on the right side halfway down. The harder edged red ribbon shape juts out from them, thats a cool little project, I am gonna try a few! Thank you, your vids inspire 👈
Thank you so much! I think I can see what you're talking about with the mushroom head guy. That's pretty cool! I love hearing what others see. I wouldn't have noticed that otherwise.
Hi Chris,Charles here.I used blue paint and black crayon.I thought 15 minutes would be too short, but found it to be more than enough time.I was satisfied with my two paintings.
Hey Charles! So glad you gave this a try and felt successful with the results. Usually, I find that 15 minutes is plenty of time unless I start thinking too much about it. You can create some great raw and energetic abstracts this way.
Glad you got a chuckle! I tried 2 of these exercises, did ‘the what of if I did this?’ They were decent, but certainly nothing of ‘what I saw now’ that made it nearly as interesting as yours. I’ll keep going. Thanks for your response.
Love it as always! I've done a few of your challenges, just need to get them up on Instagram. Thank you for keeping me going! Love the tornado/giant flower behind you
Love the way you ended up with a remarkable abstract face and necklace without intending to, and pulled back to avoid giving too much detail once you saw what had emerged. Great challenge. Think I will try today.

I'll have to try this! You're right...prompts push you to explore and learn more techniques, etc. I also see an earring!! Thanks Chris!!

Thanks, Emmanuel! We're on the same brain waves for sure. I love the thought of colour "fasting"! I'm excited to see what you come up with 😊

I've been watching your videos for a few months now. Love what you do. Good to see the artist in person too.
Thank you so much!

Indeed👍
Love where this landed and that you went with it! 🥰
Thanks, Tracy!
I so enjoyed watching your process Chris! I will have to give this a try.
Thanks so much, Sherri! Let me know how it goes 😊
Great vid. Also nice to put a face to the hand and voice. Ive just bought three colour shapers and had no idea how to use them.
Thanks, Morgan! You'll have a good time using the color shapers. I'm constantly finding new ways to use them.
Once you see the face you can’t unsee it. That would be the best orientation for me too ❤beautiful
Thanks, Ana! Yeah, that face is there to stay.😂 No matter the orientation I can still see the face.
Gorgeous! Forgive me, but I want your artist brain and eye. Thank you for these videos.
Haha, thank Ann! I do a lot of "what do I see now?" and "what if I did this?" when I'm painting these.🤔

It turned out pretty good 👏👏👏. It's nice to see your face 😉

Thanks, Becky! I'd love to see what you've done. That is a playful piece I've been working on with newsprint covering the entire canvas.
Its giving Sisyphus.
I'm not sure I'm seeing that yet, but now I'll be staring at it all day to see it.❤️

Thanks, Luken! I love surprises like this. It's fun when I watch this back knowing where it ends up and seeing the face unintentionally develop.
I also can see a face
I love when faces reveal themselves in intuitive paintings 😊
Has fun with this one!! But what I really loved is seeing some more of your beautiful artwork in the back ground - thanks for sharing
Thanks, Kelly! I still need to do a studio tour video sometime soon.😊
very nice 👌🏼
Thanks so much, Daniel!
🎨🖌️🖼️🙏💪🧡
Thank you! ❤️
Always find limiting my color palette a challenge. Really like how you ended up working it as a face.
Thanks, Sasha! I agree with you, it's definitely more challenging than it seems it should be.
❤️
Fantastic ❤
Thanks, Kenny!
Superb
Thanks so much, Talat!
Love it as a face
