Thanks for the video. I'm fine tuning my NLR chair now and also fly mostly A10. The extended center stick mount BS is a huge disappointment for me, but I'm trying a 3d printed adapter solution before going crazy hacking it up. I'm curious, at the end of your video you mention the accurate real positioning of stick/throttle/etc... Do you keep your seat at that position, or is it retracted? I mean, are you normally slid forward to have the stick actually inside the seat cutout more? That's my preferred position, but not sure if it's accurate. Also, I have WW F16EX stick and F15EX throttle for exactly the reason you said: to have enough buttons for basically every jet you'd ever want to fly.
Yeah by FAR the worst part of the whole rig is the center stick disaster. I don’t fucking get why it’s God damn 2024 and people still build full blown pits WITHOUT EXTENDING THEIR CENTER STICKS. WHY. JUST. WHY. God ( ಢ__ಢ ) Lemme tell you how I really feel lol Not extending a center stick is like buying a race car with go kart wheels. Or a belt fed machine gun that’s only semi auto. So dumb. I’m rocking a VP force rhino now anyway so the center stick thing is sorta moot. I need to make a new video as it’s already changed so much already. Retracted like… reclined? The a10 seat isn’t reclined at all, as far as I know. The stick and throttle are where they should be, to trick my body into “feeling” like it matches with what I see in the VR headset. That’s all that matters for me. The seat cutout is for the ejection handle, technically. I flew the real military a10 sim a handful of times and IIRC the stick doesn’t go into that cutout really much, if at all. I’m also a pretty big guy, at 5’11 and 220lbs so I don’t have an issue reaching. The a10 does have a lot of throw, though. Hope this helps, friend. Cheers 🥃

I usual slide forward to the point that my stick is almost between my thighs. I'm wondering, is that further than in a real A10?

And I misspoke about the ejection handle; it’s on the sides not in between your legs. I’m building an f16 pit so I was thinking of that chair lol.
That's my one complaint as a potential buyer of the Next Level Racing setup - the need to chop the joystick center mount if you're using something with an extension (in my case, a Virpil with their longest extension). It's kind of ridiculous that a high end cockpit setup like that doesn't cater for center mounted, extended joysticks. They haven't addressed this yet? Maybe I've missed something. 3:23 Im looking at dipping my toes into VR for the first time, dont want to break the bank. Have you tried other headsets like the Reverb G2 or Pimax 5k? Valve Index seems legit but I do hear about that dead pixel problem a lot.
@@crankfotton the index is ancient by today’s standards. The reverb is getting long in the tooth. The Pimax crystal… light? I think? And the varjo aero are the 2 mid range headsets to look at now. The meta quest 3 dominates the low end market. I need to redo this video; so much has changed already.

@@crankfotton I first had the original oculus back in 2016. It was garbage. Couldn’t read gauges. Shit tracking. Shit fov. But the second I put it on… I knew I could never go back to a 2d monitor. 95 for a g2 is an awesome deal. Congrats dude!
Showed up like 6 months ago. I’d not have accepted it if it came like that in 2019 of course. I’ve warranty’d a base station but I needed to warranty another and they said the warranty was expired. So.

Did the dead pixel come later or from the factory? Couldn't return it?
