It's been going along nicely. :) For the next playthroughs, it will be nice to explore different maps and playstyles. Remember that your no-war policy Venice was one of your most interesting solo games ever. Try Japan on archipaelago before someone else does it, for example. Or be douchebag Hashid and play an aggressive forward settling religious comeback game with Arabia. :)
Civ 6 is so much more even when it comes to fighting, I remember in civ 5 I would be firing canons and using soldiers whilst England was only learning how to use a musket.

Battering rams dont attack.They make the walls weak.For example if he attacks without a battering ram he might need 5+ attacks to destroy the walls, but with a battering ram near he can destroy them much faster.
I get mad because you can play CIV VI and I can't, and I would stuff different! I get "the fix" from these videos, but I'm just ready to get my hands on the game. Probably why the Devs gave press copies to so many you tubers.
I had high hopes for a more capable ai.. but oh well... This just confiremd some of my fears. The ai didnt even use their free(!!!) city-bombardement. He had no units to defend himself, aswell as no motivation to purchase units. I know, that he declared war on zanzibar, but cmon.. He had no motivation to rush back and defend his capital. I disliked the way, the ai moves its units before this incident. (failed attempt to take geneva, taking no ruins whatsoever) This is it for me. Without massive tweaks to the ai i might not get this game as soon as i wants wated it.
NovaNox you realise the city bombardment animation is the most advanced ranged unit they have access to. The way you know when the city is bombarding is when the buildings disappear and the ranged unit replaces them.
Damnit drew, why put the entertainment district so far from your capital and Kyoto, could have put it in the south, near bananas, even if you had to buy a tile, then you'd get bonus for all 3 cities instead of just one
I'm just guessing based on what he was saying about Espionage... in Beyond Earth, based on the "Intrigue" level of the city, you could do different things. If Intrigue wasn't very high, you could do stuff like steal gold or science. If Intrigue was super high, you could set off a nuke that would wipe out half the population and pillage all tiles within 2 tiles of the city, or summon aliens (the Beyond Earth version of barbarians) to come and attack the city, other really bad stuff like that.
Boudicca is female!!! She also was from Britain and fought the Roman Empire from conquering England. Although at the time it was a bunch of tribes with a technological disadvantage.

Okay what's the deal with the battering ram if it can't attack?
It provides an offensive bonus to other units when attacking cities, IIRC. Think like Great General bonus from Civ5.
It allows melee units to attack a city with walls. Without a battering ram, no melee attacks as they'd just run into said walls.

You bought the battering rams to attack the city but didn't use them
they're support units now. Just like Great Generals. They remove the "attack penalty vs cities" from adjacent units
Why build battering rams if you never attack with them? They literally just sat next to Kyoto doing nothing....
NHLGreatestMoments battering rams don't attack. They are a support unit that weakens walls
