I'm afraid that Jacobs actions are still being controlled by Maya. Think about it, when Maya demeaned Jacob by calling him a "little boy" it affected his ego. Basically in his eyes, he's not good enough for Maya. So of course he trying to remedy this by using Liv or Gabby - so he can be a man (in his eyes). Wrong of course but he is affected by what Maya is doing to him. She is a manipulator and will further control and diminish Jacobs self esteem. Maya will undoubtedly punish and torment Jacob after this.

And I think that it will get worse due to the emotional abuse Jacob will (already is) suffer. Maya will undoubtedly manipulate Jacob until he is her pet......exactly what groomers do.
