I've been watching so many of these interviews about Get Out and this is one of the best. Jordan is genius and this movie deserves all the awards EVER.
"...just walking down a street in a suburban neighborhood as a black person can send you into your deepest fears..." This is so true...my family lived in a suburban neighborhood and one day my brother, who was about 19 years of age, came home late from work, parked in the front of our house and walked up the sidewalk to come inside. A female police officer held him at gunpoint and told him to stop and get down. She said it was because he looked like a suspect that had been robbing homes in the neighborhood. How she saw his face in the dark with his back turned to her beats me!...she also didn't believe him when he said he lived in the home and so they knocked on the door and my parents had to come to do the door to say, "Yes, he lives here." Just thankful that she didn't shoot him dead in front of our home! Why she didn't just let him pull out a key and "see", I have no idea...wait...yeah I do... Simply walking up to your own house at night as a black man is scary! It is no joke, black people are obsessed with racism because we have to deal with it constantly and in the most minute of ways someone could possibly think of. Jordan Peele is a wonderful artist and I am not a person who thinks one person or any person can change the world but I am someone who can appreciate all art, especially varieties of art that reflect everyone's point of view. Kudos to Jordan Peele! Another thing...what robber goes up to the front door, uses a key and walks in? Come on!
Yeah, we've to wake up in this matrix & realize we are in our final captivity and in their heaven. therefore we've to find our spiritual balance and expect the enemy to always run up on us.
"If you're telling a story and you're not bearing part of your soul or telling your truth, I think that you're not doing it right." - Genius Jordan Peele
I must say, I did a Film degree and was so tired of hearing discussions on the subject but the way Jordan Peele speaks about his work makes me really engaged and excited about it again.
I was at the ARCLIGHT Screening... It was MAGICAL. I've long been a Horror and Suspense aficionado and JORDAN KNOCKED it out of the ballpark, while also hitting upon many of the racial challenges of this society. GREAT JOB. With every viewing there are other elements that are revealed. The movie is like an onion or those Russian Matryoshka dolls where one encloses another. It has informed my own writing...
42:14 - 42:33 is literally what the movie is displaying. When he says “before this gets way too deep here” is equivalent to the handful of moments during the movie when Georgina in the movie is close to snapping out of the “sunken place” but then the grandma who possesses her body takes back over control. That’s exactly what the interviewer just did.
Seriously, I'm only 15 min in and there have been multiple points where Jordan is about to get at something really interesting and the interviewer just cuts him off. C'mon dude, let the man talk.
For some interviewers, i think that is a certain pressure within that they have. Like "i GOTTA be a good interviewer on this one, dont screw this up, dont screw this up" and they ended up screwing this up
I find the independent and ULB films are more common than not far superior in quality and effect than the big budget films that have every resource available to them but somehow keep falling flat for me. I love that the budget challenges the directors and forces them to be more creative and it often gets a far better effect than if they "had it their way" from the beginning.
"So we gotta cancel Celebrity Apprentice, right? If this m*********** is going out on this kind of bold racist s***..." Well, America went the other way on that one o_O

This is why people hate pigs. They are not here to protect us.

This was really insightful about the lengths that were taken to make this film so unique. Too bad the clips played had to be omitted.
Why didn't they keep the audience questions?! I'm so greedy. I just wanted MORE!!
lmao, i said exactly that when the vid ended
33:00 is so true and now I wish Peele was involved with the Halloween reboot/sequel
He is such a Mature Artist.
I feel we are gonna be seeing a Jordan Peele period film and it's gonna be brutal and terrifying
Picking a Non-American lead helped alot to incorporate the American Majority. Makes it easier to accept.
We need a movie of Meeghan.
What's your next movie Mr. Jordan
Kathiravan Ganesh Lovecraft Country

Now it is "Nope" and the poster looks just that good
My man’s keep interrupting my guy. He would start to get deep into something and it’s followed by an inevitable interruption.

Not a fan of Jordan Peeler but Elvis Mitchell is a legend.
