- Phil Foden scored two stunning goals as City recovered from a goal down to beat Manchester United 3-1.
City had fallen behind to a thunderous Marcus Rashford goal on eight minutes - against the run of play - and spent the next 50 minutes or so trying to find a way past a resolute United back-line.
But Foden levelled on 56 minutes with a screamer into the top corner from 20 yards, then scored a delightful second ten minutes from the end of normal time.
Erling Haaland wrapped up victory with a clinical finish following excellent work by Rodrigo to make it 3-1 in added time as the Blues moved within a point of leaders Liverpool.

He was angry because Haaland try to make the play more spectacular than it was needed. Haaland just needed to touch the ball with his head a lot EASIER than lift his boot that high as he was moving forward. As a consequence he hit the ball when his foot was still moving up and so went the ball

Foden really showing his metal this season. With signings like Alverez and Doku it could have been easy to forget how good he is.

He gets the ball and only then turns. He cannot make the run first. He has to learn that otherwise hes as good as a passback only. He wasn't like that at the beginning. Grealish is far better in that sense

Best game I’ve seen in a while, faster passing, shooting from that area where Foden scored his first. It was beautiful. Man of the match….Foden…world class, simply brilliant. Man, Alvarez only played for like 30 minutes but he was absolute class, every touch from him was pretty much perfect, and always meaningful, man always has a purpose, and his first touches were off the charts today. He is my favourite player and he keeps showing his class in different ways.
