Nah...Not really. There are a ton of beautiful places left in England and i'm not just talking the Cotswolds. I worked in House Removals for 5 years up until last year and been the length and breadth of the realm x 20...There are a huge amount of really pleasant, quaint, quiet, scenic, English (in terms of country gardens and all that), places out there. As a kid from the East end of London I used to go camping in Cornwall every summer...Cornwall (as an example) is STILL a beauty. What i will say in agreement is...Yeah, i was there in late 80s and through the 90's from Punk Rock to Drum n bass, i was locked in. Hiking across the woodlands and forests of England, I was game and still am...Was heavily into boxing back then (too much money involved now)...We are in an age of 'information overload' it's all meaningless information these days and too much of it, everyone is scrolling scrolling scrolling empty scrolling...The days you're talking of we were engaged with our immediate environment and that's what real life is about, direct experience with your immediate environment....But, how many people (including those who lived through the 90's), can put down their phones for 10 minutes? We've lost connection with eachother because of the medium i'm using to talk to you...Now life is digital...And that ain't living

How the worlds changed in 2 decades. Real ppl with real stories and no woke nonsense. Now it’s a mess .I’m just happy I grew up through the 80s and 90s watching stars like Frank achieve so much whilst flying the flag for the country.
I am from Sri Lanka. I was a student in the UK in the late 1970s and Frank lived a few doors down to my sister in laws grocery Wiles Stores in Wandsworth. He was the amateur heavy weight champion if I am not mistaken. Truly a gentleman and so friendly. He used to carry my infant daughter everytime he visited the shop.

My cousin who is a boxing coach here in Lancashire asked Frank if he would come up from London to present achievement awards to his young fighters . This was a number of years ago just after he had retired , Frank agreed to do this but as long as it wasn't made public , he kept to his promise and he did this for free Top top bloke.

Great to see Frank, the Americans used to say they remember where they were when Kennedy got shot, Brits of a certain age remember where they were when Frank became world champion. Me, I was in the Captain's Taverna, Sidari Corfu, and the ground shook when Frank was announced the winner. One of the best British boxers IMO. I shall buy the Book.
Frank Bruno was my favourite boxer growing up along with Chris Eubank. I remember unfortunately he got had to receive psychiatric help near my old school and I do bit of boxing myself in the navy and felt very sorry for him looking back good to see him well and still got that legendary laugh. Bruno was right about Tyson, at his peak no one could touch him, swept the floor with people.
Beating mcall, the fanfare going up and the tickertape falling down is how I remember Frank. From time to time I go back and watch that fight and I still get nervous and at the end I still get goosebumps. Legend.

Great to see Frank, the Americans used to say they remember where they were when Kennedy got shot, Brits of a certain age remember where they were when Frank became world champion. Me, I was in the Captain's Taverna, Sidari Corfu, and the ground shook when Frank was announced the winner. One of the best British boxers IMO. I shall buy the Book.
I remember where I was that night, as I was in Wembley Stadium watching Frank win the title. 😆😆
Frank Bruno was my favourite boxer growing up along with Chris Eubank. I remember unfortunately he got had to receive psychiatric help near my old school and I do bit of boxing myself in the navy and felt very sorry for him looking back good to see him well and still got that legendary laugh. Bruno was right about Tyson, at his peak no one could touch him, swept the floor with people.

Beating mcall, the fanfare going up and the tickertape falling down is how I remember Frank. From time to time I go back and watch that fight and I still get nervous and at the end I still get goosebumps. Legend.
