Beautiful container combination! Thanks for showing the newer healthier boxwood types and the wonderful uses in pots.
Beautiful container, I love the green, white, silvery blue combo with the color of that beautiful pot.
Looks great--thank you, Jim. 😊
Jim I went to Big Bloomers today. I told them you were why I was there. Amazing place!
Good morning Jim and Stephanie! The container turned out beautifully!
Thank you!
I don't plant many pots. I own five. Three are pretty large. They line the outside of my sunroom windows. The two smaller ones sit on my front porch steps. My three large pots all have boxwood in them. This was a fairly recent decision. One Green Mountain in the center pot and two Sprinter in the other two flanking the center pot. I agree with you. They are a great care-free, reliable, evergreen option. And deer don't bother them....that's huge for me.
Just love the pot you’re using. It’s gorgeous. I have no boxwoods but I’ve thought about trying them out in my flower garden. I need some upright shrubs.
Pretty container planting. Thank you, for sharing all your tips and tricks.
Love this kind of video where you design a small space or container!
I have a black Colocasia, orange Calibrachoa and Dichondra in a similarly colored container. The Dichondra doesn't get lost on the background, it actually enhanced both tones. Mine is a taller container, more of an urn, very happy with the results even though the Colocasia was tiny and is slow to gain size. Perfection isn't necessary, as long as you are happy with the look. I've got just one white Impatient in a slate colored container to bring light to a dark corner. Don't overlook a splash of white! Always great ideas Jim!
Feel very happy to see what you share. Very interesting and very special to me. I was so amazed that I wanted to watch it until the end. 💟💟💟💟Best wishes to you, may you always have health and happiness
Love it! Do you consider your videos to be “entertainment” or “educational” under the UA-cam categories? I have learned loads of gardening info from your channel, but I tend to watch you for entertainment! Either way, great job!
Lovely pot🪴& plants!
Thanks for watching this morning!
❤hello, Mr. Jim putnam and Stephany and all the gardeners friends. Love ❤️ the pot-garden ❤️ 🙏
I've potted plants a lot but it was great to watch and listen to how you do it and all the reasons behind your process. Thanks!
Great container!! Starting to add boxwoods to my garden.
Beautiful !!
This is an unsurprisingly lovely container planting. I am a bit hesitant about evergreens in my containers since they get a lot of sun- and my container watering protocol is haphazard. I feel that I need plants that are obviously crying for help!
Such an elegant arrangement! I’m wanting to replace some too big lorapetalum with Better Boxwoods to grow a very low hedge, kept around 2’ tall. Do you have a recommendation on which variety might suit best? Also, I’m enamored with cone shaped boxwoods and keep hoping you’ll make a video about how to start a cone shaped topiary!
Thank you…great video. So sad I can’t buy this in Tennessee, nor can it be shipped here?
That plant combo looks great. I tried wintergreen boxwood in a container (z6b), but it didn't over-winter for me. There wasn't much normal winter bronzing. It stayed green all winter and then went straight to dead brown in early spring. Gardening is all about experimenting, I guess. I replanted the container with tropicals and will over winter those inside this winter.
Great video as usual, however can you answer questions about boxwoods that are fully grown? I am in desperate need of help about pruning them or to find out if they are too far gone. 😢 Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I live in zone 7.
QUESTION: Where a perennial’s plant tag says that propagation is prohibited, does this mean that, when I have to divide the plant after a few years, I must throw all but one division in the compost/trash?
Would you put some expanded shale in the soil mixture?
Yes, if I didn't have pine bark.
🌳NICE🌳
When can I transplant a small mimosa tree, zone 8b
Nice pot. I haven't seen the Better Boxwood in my local plant stores. What would be good to plant around rose bushes??? I made a rose bush and tree garden bed but don't know what to plant in the voids. I would like something purple that flowers several times a year but not too tall that it would shade my roses. Any suggestions?
Thanks for another great video. I would absolutely love to add some of the Better Boxwoods to my garden, but I’ve visited Plants By Mail several times, and Tennessee is still restricted. Do you have any information when they might be available for this state? It’s been a bit frustrating.
I'll address this is the Sunday q and a
