Mike, Mike, Mike... the reason none of these diseases haven't been cured isn't because science can't cure them, it's because they are all so rare that there's no money in finding a cure, which will only affect a very few people in the world. It's very simple, really. It's the (lack of) money, pure and simple.
    Cheers,
    jc

Alien hand syndrome? I was suffering from this a few years ago. Turns out, I had/was having a stroke, actually what is called a TIA. I went to the GP, who decided that I needed to see a neurologist. Only to finally have my entire right side spasming, which let to an ambulance ride, and while the EMT got my spasm to stop... I was in the hospital for two weeks. Nothing like getting pissed off at the hospital because nobody, and I do mean nobody, wanted to tell me. And since I have a pacemaker, an MRI was out, all they could do was a CT scan. I get out, and the neurologist sets up an appointment, which is now for a stroke, not the pinched nerve that everybody thought it was. I was on blood thinners at the time, too. And I still managed to outlive my wife. grumble, grumble, grumble.

@@jcfreak4ever1 Yeah, we've had her 15 years & we've been lucky so far as she's always puked it up after. I'm always worried that someday our luck will run out. No matter how diligent we are and how many new hiding places we put such items in, she somehow keeps finding stuff. She'll steal plastic bags from right in front of me, even ones full of stuff or that are bigger than her. And she knows she's not supposed to have it, so she'll grab it really quick and then run off & try to hide somewhere with it. But we always chase her & take it from her immediately. I don't know how many times over the years I've had to play tug of war with her because she refuses to let it go. Sometimes we have to hold her down and pry her mouth open to get it without tearing it. And then we have to inspect it for missing pieces. I've even had to pull chunks of plastic out of her throat. She's so quick!

I experienced alien hand syndrome right after my 2nd craniotomy last year. Thankfully, it went away as I healed after surgery. Loud noises ( thumping bass, etc) make me hurt to the point where I'd like to hurt other people; I know that it's part of my CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia, because why have 1 horrendously poorly understood nerve condition when you have 2??? I'm beginning to think that my body hates me.. 😢 the worsr part about my chronic conditions are that they're all invisibke, so I look as normal as anyone else. I shouldn't have to say this, but people really need to stop parking in handicapped parking spots if you dont actually need it or have the appropriate placard or handicapped license plate!!!!nAnd stop demanding to know why im parking in that spot!!!😡😡😡😤😤😤
CRPS is a nerve condition where you feel like every drop of your blood has been replaced with lighter fluid and then struck a match. There's no cure and it's often callef the "suicide disease" because patients lose the ability to withstand the unbearable pain. 😢😢

🙄 ok WHY do you people feel the need to do this?????? You take a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with politics, and you make it about politics. I'm not being mean here (mostly), but I think this is a disorder that should be looked into. I'm dead serious. You don't have to do this, but you do anyway. Why?

A better title would be bizarre disorders because some things are list or not biological disease. For example we have dissociative identity disorder and just catch DID. You just catch some mental disorders.

Morgellons Disease.... It's not psychological, it's for real!!! Many years ago, I had several small lesions, mostly on my arms. I looked closely and saw what appeared to be tiny strings about 1 mm in length, some red, some blue. My mother saw it, too, so I know I wasn't hallucinating! I didn't know it had a name, tho.

The multiple personality disorder can actually be categorized differently. Marvel and DC have two distinct people with the disorder and they liken it to having multiple rooms or glass boxes where each personality lives. Each personality has a specific trigger that it uses to break free and they jockey for control although the master is usually the original one from childhood. The current way to handle it is confronting each individual personality on its own and figuring out which is the right dominant personality. Once the real personality is upfront then antidepressants are used to squash the others. The most personalities ever recorded was 8 in one person. It took the better part of a year to figure out the original personality and squashing the others as they were pretty strong. Also the person had to confront the trauma head on afterwards.

Nope. I'm in an abnormal psychology class, and the most alters ever recorded is (are?) 100. You can Google that lol. The usual amount is around 15, though. But 8 is by no means the maximum lmao

I'm in an abnormal psychology class right now, and the most mind boggling thing about did is that the alters don't just change your mind. Oh no. They change your body, too. Every alter can have different eyesight, different heart rates, and different blood pressure. If that isn't absolutely insane idk what is.

I have childhood onset PTSD, dissociative amnesia and DID. Want something even more insane than just having DID? The dissociative amnesia caused me to forget that I had DID until relatively recently when my health took a major downturn. The wall came crumbling down and I found myself with a large system of alters. It’s been an interesting adjustment.

@@lisachiappetti6092 The DID actually explained a number of things that never really made sense before. I’m in a place in life now where it’s the least of my issues, honestly, and, at times, can help more than it hinders. I’ve got too many chronic illnesses to even try to list and I’d rather not complain. Three autoimmune disorders and losing my last psych who said she couldn’t treat me because I had too much going on, is enough to send most people running. I’ve got my family who take wonderful care of me. Three kitties that are adorable and my German Shepherd service dog that is a big goof, but she also sticks by mommy!
