I think it’s important to note to a lot of tourist that the Hanoi-Sapa trains are actually Hanoi-Lao Cai trains since there is not direct train route to Sapa. You will always have to book some sort of ride to Sapa. Taxis are expensive so it’s best to book in advance some sort of shuttle bus. Some sleeper buses that run from Hanoi do pick up people near the station which should only cost around 120,000 vnd.
Thanks 🙏 so much! I bought the black cap in Indonesia 🇮🇩 from the online retailer, Tokopedia. I just browsed hats looking for that style. We hope you enjoy our channel videos!
We used Vietnam Railways System. vietnam-railway.com But they are an agency website. It worked fine for us, but I noticed their prices keep increasing. Maybe you can buy cheaper at the Hanoi Station.
@kentuckiansabroad Thanks so much for your reply. There seems to be so many websites that it's hard to know which are real and which is the original company. I'll have a look at the link you shared.
We slept okay. But it’s definitely loud with zigzags all through the night. We did not get dizzy, but I was definitely ready for real rest at the hotel in Sapa when we arrived.
We used Vietnam Railways System. vietnam-railway.com But they are an agency website. It worked fine for us, but I noticed their prices keep increasing. It’s about $92 per ticket now. Maybe you can buy cheaper at the Hanoi Station (if you can communicate with the staff 😂). However, the staff at the station were not very friendly or interested in talking with foreigners.

Bring an empty suitcase! You can get good quality brands for very affordable prices. We stocked our luggage with Nike and North Face gear for a fraction of the retail price.
hai sir..did u purchase online for train ticket? which is directly to vietnam railways website right? or else if i purchase at ticket counter the day before departure any possibility ticket sold out?

The train was comfortable enough. We will try different trains next time we visit. But the trains are limited to certain days. So we hired a private car back to Hanoi, which was better for our flight itinerary.
I’m not sure if it’s the same. However, “VIP” on the Chapa Express just means only 2 guests in the room. There are actually 4 beds in the VIP room, but you can keep those closed for more head space. If you did not book the VIP, you will likely have more than 2 people in your sleeper. And if you’re traveling solo, you can book the VIP, but you’ll have to pay for both beds.

The Hotel de la Coupole is the best hotel in the town. But maybe the most expensive as well. 😂 If you go there, tell the manager, Lin, that Kentuckians Abroad (Jeremy & Rani) from UA-cam sent you!
Well, we don’t care about your cancellation. But if you traveled as much as we travel, you would change up your selections sometimes…especially if you found an American diner in Vietnam, owned by an American. But if you watch our other vlogs, then you can see plenty of noodles and spring rolls if that’s your thing!

Good 👍 info! Yes, our taxi from the Lao Caí station to our hotel in Sapa was $20 USD.
I saw a solo traveler take a bus from Lao Cai to Sapa town for under $2.
Yes, the buses are cheaper, but not as comfortable for that ride.
Love your beret cap. Where'd you get it ? Nice video btw.

Would have been good to actually see more of the train, amenities, toilets and the cabin you slept in?
You saw it. The train is very limited. Don’t expect more than a twin bed and some snacks for the ride!
Hi, great videos. 👍Which company or website did you use for the train booking and can you recommend other booking websites, please?
We used Vietnam Railways System.

How much were the cloths at the made in Vietnam store? Trying to decide if I should bring a full suitcase or empty suitcase. Thanks

Yes, we purchased tickets online. Check the comments of this video for more info. Of course, if you buy at the ticket counter, they might be sold out.
Can you share the travel agency you used to book the ticket? Thank you!!!

It is monsoon in South East Asia. Rani should know.
Actually, the different areas have different patterns. For example, Bali rainy season does not start at the same time as Jakarta rainy season, etc.
Do you recall if the VIP is the same
As what they call “2 bedroom”

Great video thanks for sharing. What’s the cost for vip train 🚂 to Sapa from Hanoi
It’s currently $92 USD with the company we used. The train runs daily from Sapa to Hanoi at 21:30. 🕤

nice review! may i check whether you had the chapa express for 85 usd per person or in total?
It was $85/per person on the travel agency website.
Hi I would like to know the price of the train from Hanoi 😮
The Chapa Express Train 🚂 was $85 USD one-way from Hanoi to Sapa. That is the price for our VIP car. But the price might be more now.
24usd for taxi is an expensive ride. How far was it?
It was about an hour up the mountain from the train station.
@@kentuckiansabroad ok then perhaps it was a common rate uphill due to high maintenance of the car.
I love sapa!🥰

40usd is high. If Japanese wahyu beef perhaps ok
That’s the restaurant setting…but the food was good. But not Wagyu beef 🥩 good. 😂
Luxury room
The Hotel de la Coupole was a very nice room! One of our favorite hotels this year!
@@kentuckiansabroad yes very luxury and old vibe
Ok, so I'm trying to make reservations there. I see your room had 2 beds. I have a party of 3. What category room did you get please?
@LordDarkcyde we purchased a VIP compartment with 2 beds. 🛏️
Cold as ice 🥺
“Cold as ice” about what? We tried to show our entire experience as it was that day.
Vietnamese thought tourists are walking ATM. Squeeze money here and there.
There seems to be this thought 💭 in many tourist towns we visit. Cities are usually regulated better because there are so many people.
C'mon, chili fries and chicken tenders in Hanoi!? Get me outta here - this is baloney! You've been cancelled from my recommended channels!
