I always find prep and planning videos so motivating. I’m always so over the place with my prep and planning process. It’s inspiring to watch people who are so much better at this. Thanks for sharing!
✨Good Morning mamas! I hope you enjoy coming along with me as I plan and prep for our first unit of the year! Are you all ready for the new school year? ✨
I think you should get a binder! For me, at least, the time savings is worth it... and over time so is the cost savings. It's just a glorified hole puncher, then wind in the coil (takes less than 1 minute). It's less than 5 minutes a book... I print several things and then bind them at the same time, to be the most efficient.
I love how you said you are going to keep your daughter in the lower level. I think I'll do the same. It will allow my daughter to gain confidence in her reading ability. Love your videos.
You totally should check Facebook marketplace for a binding machine!!! I got a $300 machine for $75!! That’s less then what I would pay for a cinch or pro kick!
Aww man, I know not every curriculum works for every family, but have you tried more than one unit? Like a different topic maybe? How old are your kids?
That’s a GENIUS idea! Which Christian Hero are you studying? We are doing the To Every Nation missionary study from Not Consumed, which uses the Christian Heroes books-I’d LOVE to tie in a unit study!
@@RootedHomeLife I picked Jim Elliot since he served there. I probably should look ahead and see if others did since we will probably be done with that book before the unit study. This will be our first attempt at Gather Round. It does look beautiful
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a new subscriber and watching your videos so I don’t ask anything already there. Getting ready to homeschool for the first time. I’m a bit overwhelmed, but less than yesterday God is so good!. I know this is the right thing to do and I should’ve done it since my oldest was in kindergarten if I’ve followed what God was telling me too, but fear paralyzed me every time. The situation with Covid is giving me the push I needed just like many other parents. Pleeeease pray for me😭 I’m a mess today!
I will definitely be praying for you mama-I’m glad you’re here! You got this! And where you don’t, He does ❤️. Feel free to dm me over on Instagram too if you have questions along the way!
Thanks for sharing! I'm still organizing, cleaning and preparing to start in a few weeks:) I've been looking into purchasing a binding machine, but I'm not 100% sure yet as it's not completely necessary to have one:)
What a great unit, I never knew that something like this existed. Maybe something that we will do later in the school year. I want it more for myself then my kids, haha. I love the free resources you found, what a great idea. Thanks so much for introducing this to me.
Haha I totally get this. Sometimes I get annoyed when my kids don’t want to do the workbooks thoroughly- they don’t love the copywork or some of the note taking areas- they just want to draw and hear about all the interesting topics. Because I’m like- if I were your age I’d want to do it! Lol I love those notebooks
It was the only one I’ve purchased so far, but I have a bunch I just picked up from the library, and a couple more I ordered from Amazon-I’ll be sharing them all on Monday! I also have a few that I shared in my Farm Busy Bin + book haul video from last week!!
Love seeing how you print and plan for GR. We have been using it unbound but would love to have them individually bound this year and will definitely get the card stock and thicker paper!! Thank you for this video!! Do you exclusively use Gather Round or supplement with other curriculum?
Hi there, I am new, and I had asked about how you handle the printing but i paused your video and didn't realize you said you had HP Instaink...LOL How do you like the Instaink program? As i mentioned in my comment that i deleted, I LOVE my HP printer, the quality is phenomenal. I have the same printer as you, but the cost of cartridges is prohibitive to use in projects like this. Do you think it's worth it to do the instaink program, what are the pros/cons in your opinion? I'm a first time homeschooler with a 10th grader and we are going to do the human body unit. We are excited!!! Thank you for the great video and have a great homeschooling year!!!!!
It’s so worth it! Any pages you don’t use get rolled over! I have the $20 a month plan-but you can change the plan and go up or down if you need to-I was going over at the lower plan so I went up. Congrats on your first year-that’s so exciting! We plan to do human body this year too!!
@@RootedHomeLife yes, i think that's what I'm going to do. I absolutely love how my HP printer prints. My neighbor has the HP smart tank 651 i believe and ...omg...the print quality is amazing too, just as good as my HP envy, so in definitely not going to invest in that printer yet, it almost like 500 dollars...😲 This used ecotank just is horrible...lol. I learned my lesson unfortunately the hard way bc they sold me a printer that obviously wasn't working, and have lost that money but it's ok, I'm not going to let it get me down ... thank you so much for answering back, that doesn't always happen, i appreciate it. We are very excited to start Monday, I just need to start and get my flow going and then change up what needs to be changed. It's going to be great!! Take care ❤️
New to laminating and it looked like you laminated and then cut everything. So i don't have to cut everything first and space them out on the sheet and then cut again? I was worried there was like a seal or something i would break and mess it all up.
So, I used to do that, but it takes too long haha…I have found that it works just fine this way-EXCEPT, water can seep in the sides, so they are NOT spill proof this way, it just makes them more durable-but for cutting first and then laminating, a little glue stick on the back stops them from sliding around inside the sheet on their way through!

Hey I’m Jessica , mom on 3 boys. 8,6,4
Just pulled them out of public school.
Thinking of doing gather round :)
Hi Jessica! That’s so exciting! We love Gather Round!!
I’m such an organization freak I LOVE this 😂😂
Hahaha love it!

I’ll have to keep my eye out!
I can’t wait to see the book haul! We are doing farming and food next as well!
Yay! It will be up on Monday!!
I love the look of these! I so wish they worked better for us.

Very impatiently waiting on the South America study to use alongside our Christian Hero study ! Thanks for your information!

What printer do you have and dont u use soooo much ink? I have an HP envy and if I printed that much, it would be a cartridge a unit lol
I have and HP office jet 4650! I have an instant ink subscription so I pay like $20 a month…I’ve heard really good things about the Ecotank too!!
@@RootedHomeLife thank you! I didn't know there was an ink subscription!!
Thank you 🙏 Is Farm anatomy the only extra book you will order for this unit study? Any read alouds?
