I can’t lie I’m not excited about this whole Trossard signing ✍️. Fair enough we missed out on Mudryk but clearly we didn’t have a clear plan b in terms of the type of profile we would’ve rather brought in. Trossard just so happened to have a fall out with his manager and had “18 months” left on his contract so we pounced on an opportunity I doubt we really wanted him or he was on our actual shortlist. Also he hasn’t proven even at Brighton to be a high consistent performer he’s 28 doesn’t have much time to gel at Arsenal we need him to hit the ground running right away also at best he’s a versatile back up not really someone I can see cementing a guaranteed place in the first team in any position or competitive enough to where Arsenal is heading poor signing for the sake of Arteta and Edu I hope he really does work out missing out on Mudryk was a real shame due to our incompetent owners 😢

He plays across the front 3, versatile and already proved himself in the prem. Maybe check his stats their pretty much identical with both martinelli and Saka the 2 he's going to be covering for - 7 goals for Brighton forgot assists but pretty similar numbers and for a team all be it doing well Brighton but they ain't a force like arsenal. Personally I think he's exactly what we need Bench looks really weak. A player who you know can cut it in the prem, he's in his prime age wise,great stats and it's mid season. He's a steal at 21 mill. Our first team writes itself Artetas mission now needs to be strength in depth and competition for the first 11. Mudryk is a baller for sure, but do you really want a situation where he's twerking on social media for a move to Barca or Madrid in 6 months? I know I don't Arteta only just managed to rid the club of that type, let's not go back to that.

He had an opportunity to come Arsenal back then but he didn't want to be a back up/rotational player so he opted to go Brighton whereby he'd be a first team player get the chance to showcase his talents then hopefully get the big club move he's always dreamt of to wherever if all went to plan. But let's be honest cast your mind back to summer when we let Pepe go on loan and needed additional competitional cover & back up to our wingers we were linked with a whole host of wingers and Trossard wasn't on that list it was players like Raphinha (Priority) P.Neto, M.Mudryk, Y.Pino, M.Diaby, L.Sane, S.Gnabry, C.Gakpo etc so my point is I agree we do desperately need back up/versatility and a very good opportunity came to sign Trossard so we took it only with that in mind but for me he's not exciting so we do agree in a way. Also as fans we should be careful with the word 'versatile' because he's mainly effective as an AMC behind the striker not really on the wings or as a dependable out in out striker but having said that he is an exquisite finisher. Yeah I'm aware of his stats this season he has 7 prem goals and 2 assists on par with martinelli right now so its good but he's not a consistent performer so its good he's a back up overall. I feel at arsenal he'll get the chance to improve on that too in all fairness. But for a 3.5 year contract he's been given lets see what he can do over the duration of that time 👀
