  • We had quite an easy trip to New Zealand. We flew with Emirates and we booked with Dimension Travel.
It was quite stressful flying with a 9 month old but in the end it was all okay.
After 26 hours we arrived in New Zealand and we're so excited to share our adventures with you!

Welcome to NZ - as you probably have seen already the roads are a bit different (very few potholes, and sometimes if you are not turning left, you are turning right). Immigrating can be tough at times - however a lot of people have done it and thrived. Look forward with confidence to a new life, in a beautiful country.

Congradulations to you Alicia and to your husband. The choice you have made is the best for both you and family. As a South African,i as well left South Africa,Durban years ago,.....1995. Started off as working as an aupair in Europe. I have been living abroad in different kinds of countries, and i never regret moving out of SA. I also lived in Sweden for a short while and lived in NZ( Auckland) for 4 years. Ocassionally we visit SA for holiday, whenever we have time in the holidays, thats besides travelling in and around Europe😊. May our Lord Jesus bless you and your family. May you and your family prosper in whatever you set your hearts ans hands to. I am so overjoyed and happy for yet another South African moving ahead and being in a country of peace. Blessings to you. Yolande❤

    New Sub.
    Welcome to New Zealand guys.
One of the pros is that you still drive on the right side of the road 😂
Will just do a saturday morning stay in bed because it's rainining in Nelson binge watch till we're up to date.
Look forward to seeing how your transition has and is going.
There are a number of expat saffas in Nelson and all the ones l've met are really good people and apart from the fact that they've left loved ones and family behind, the majority have weathered the transition well and love how on so many levels it is much more stress free for them here. Especially so for those who arrived with children.

Welcome to NZ. Sucks that you will arrive into winters. Don't let it get you down. The weather is cold and miserable, but it only lasts a few months. Try a mince pie from a bakery with good reviews.
