Cut the frag plugs with a bone cutter. I cut away the stem and all the excess disk. I’m then left with a small non uniform bud that I then superglue to rock work. That way you don’t ever notice the frag plug. I only do this when I can’t totally remove coral from plug

Also a cheaper alternative to a ATO is to use a tight (nearly air tight) glass lid for the aquarium. The important thing with the lid is to have zero (if possible) gaps in the lid. I use plastic food wrap to cover any open gaps.

I'm setting this up pretty closely. One difference is that mine will not be a peninsula style setup. Do you think I can hang the Aquaclear 70 on the long side and still get adequate water movement? If so I plan to just black out that portion of the "back" of the tank. Also, do you have pods in the refugium? Thanks so much!

  • @ZARA.is.a.dead.cokaroch

So your Smart ATO sits inside the Aquaclear? The evap changes the water level inside the filter?
Would have thought that would stay fairly constant and the tank would have the most level change?
    Genius using the magnetic overflow!
I’ve bought a frag rack and magnet cleaner off OBD.
I’ve a Fluval Edge sitting here that I’m keen to set up as a nano reef but where to fit the ATO is the main challenge as the water level in the tank is in that little airlock - but if I can fit an micro ATO into the Fluval HOB...

I’m looking for a nice refugium light for my aquaclear mod just like in this video, anyone have any preferences for lights that worked??? I have high nitrates a lot of the time in my 20 gallon tank. I don’t want to buy a skimmer so I want to try the refugium idea. Thanks!

I would like a saltwater tank but it looks so confusing and like a lot of work

It’s really not bad at all if you keep it simple and go slow; check out the beginning videos of this series

If you Push it 6 times doesn't that mean you're running it at 40 percent whites as every click dims the light? Starts at 100 and every click goes down 10 percent

My little maxima sucks up enough calcium that I have to dose 1.5x the recommended amount of seachem calcium part1 to like 10% of the part-2 for alk daily just to stay at 380+ lol...

Does the $146 include all those fancy chemicals and other additives? Or is that just the initial cost and then your going broke... lol
