I don't believe Adrien is Matthew's child, I believe Adrien to be the other guy's kid. I think Adrien is uncomfortable around M&M due to the Rat. Maybe Adrien has a different perceptive of Rat and Cat's death with Rat being the only one reasonable for the deaths. Or in the original game, a kid was in the closet when the whole thing went down, maybe Adrien saw the whole thing but blames Markus for it instead of Vinny.
Also I don’t think Matthew had 3 kids, So I think it’s Marcos kid or Matthew had a sibling who has Adrien or just a friend of a family member or a friend of a friend all we know is that Adrian isn’t Matthew’s kid
Whatever their connection is, we now realize they are the "green" kid from Dylan's drawing and Bryan's memories. I'm certain people knew this as soon as Adrien walked on screen though XD

Dylan to be fair you've been in the location most nights and there's the animatronics, why do you need a night guard? Also haven't you been paying them for being off because you were there alot

In the actual story of the game, there was a child (I forget their name) hiding in a cabinet of the room when rat and cat were killed. Perhaps Adrien witnessed that event, which could be why they are afraid of M&M
The entire event from the game of Vinnie killing Rat and Cat is cannon, however, Mary does not exist in the cannon game form. Blank was the one to witness the murder, not Mary. Adrien is also not a fill in for Mary
