While people continue to exaggerate how many times Skyrim has been released, I'll be too busy having a blast playing it at the park or on work lunch breaks to care. Very pleased to hear how well this turned out. I only hope it isn't jarring to me after I had the PC version modded to look extra spiffy, but I've never really played the Special Edition versions anyway, so I'm sure I'll forget about that five minutes in once I realize I'm finally playing PORTABLE SKYRIM.
Fellas, fellas... Skyrim is more realistic than any other game to date, period... with 100+ mods mainly sporting immersion mods and making sure visuals are juuuuust right. ^.^

I’m a wood elf archer warrior who steals a lot and is trying to get myself a house and adopt a kid and is also on a quest to learn some advanced magic.
And I'm a high elf mage who steals a lot and is trying to level up illusion even though he doesn't use it, swings around a sword, and is also on a quest to become a vampire.
I’ve been playing this about a week... and I can already say without a doubt that Skyrim has become one of my all time favorite games. Like shooters, open world games are a genre I haven’t been able to dip into previously; I rarely have the time of day to sit down in front of my tv and devote the hours necessary to make much headway in a game like this. Then came the Switch, and that excuse went flying out the window and died on impact. Now, I can chip away at the game in increments during my free moments throughout the day, while also devoting entire days off from work to make some REAL progress. I dipped my toes into the open world genre with “Breath of the Wild”, and while that game is addictive in its own right, Skyrim offers so much more freedom and content, while not being as repetitive as Zelda could be at times. The graphics, while definitely beginning to show their age, are nevertheless breathtaking, especially when you get the chance to look out over the expansive, mist-shrouded mountainsides and plains. And while the combat aspect of the game is kinda simplistic, the variety of races, enemies and weapons helps to keep things interesting. I’m an Argonian. I run with the Companions, mostly focusing on one handed melee weaponry and heavy armor, though I also have a knack for stealth and utilize Destruction and Healing spells to supplement my options. The first time I fought a dragon was probably the most epic video game experience of my life. I watched as it swooped in and out of range, striking at it with arrows and Spark bolts until it was forced to land. Fighting it up close allowed me to deal some real damage with my Skyridge sword, yet also exposed me to the full force of it’s fiery breath. Eventually, we were both beat to hell, and it came down to him or me. I was left with a desperate choice: I could take a chance with my underutilized Werewolf form and see if the added brute force would win the day, or I could favor brains and strategy. I decided to gulp down a health potion for a quick pickmeup along with a resist fire potion, poisoned my blade with some Frost Spider venom, and gulped another potion to momentarily improve one-handed combat. Ultimately, that combo proved successful, and before long, there I stood, Skyrim’s newest Dragonborn, all while the most epic of epic musical scores blasts in the background, making it feel like I was the star of a big budget fantasy adventure flick. This game is every bit as addictive as it is fun, and I highly recommend people to play it in moderation; if you don’t force yourself to put it down every once in a while, it will swallow ALL of your spare time. THAT is the power of Skyrim. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna disregard my own advise and play Skyrim nonstop for the next several days... for that is the way of the Dragonborn!
The "Skyrim is a game where you push goats off of cliffs by yelling at them" earned you a twofer: a laugh that woke up a very vexed wife and a subscriber. Thumbs up.
One of my personal favorite builds for the game is a magic-based sneak archer. Bound Bow is absolutely overpowered, being a Daedric Bow with unlimited Daedric Arrows. Having Conjuration support is additionally just really useful since I can stick to the backlines and shoot from afar. I also just do Heavy Armor anyways because there's literally no reason not to when there's perks to eliminate its flaws entirely.
"I could literally go on for hours going over everything you can do in the game" .... is it bad that I want that? Your botw videos were so good, I'd love it if you did that with Skyrim!
Ok as someone who had breached about 1500 hours of multiple console skyrim gameplay. And achieved the title of best and favorite game ever made. This review validates everything i already thought. Finally getting a switch and its the only game i want on it. Best review and i cant wait to check out your other videos because quite frankly your style of doing youtube is perfect. You are cool as fuck arlo. Take care man.
Arlo you're forgetting that the Special Edition on the other consoles was full price when they were released as well. They all cost 59.99 upon release on those consoles. So why would the price be reduced on the Switch when it's the first time being released on Nintendo's console as well?
It being $60 elsewhere doesn't justify it being $60 here. Those ports shouldn't even have been full price. They're all slightly modded versions of the base game which has been barely improved since it came out originally 6 years ago. Theyre being priced at $60 for money and nothing else.
They really should sell this game as a pack in tittle for the switch, it's the reason why I'm seriously considering buying it, if they put it in a bundle they would move so many units
That ending monologue bro hilarious I was just searching reviews for Nintendo switch for Skyrim and found your channel and subscribed to it right now....also I am planning on getting my Nintendo switch...it will be my first Nintendo that I will be buying ever..... excited for that...
Great review Arlo. Already played the game before (invested a total of 575 hours into it in fact) but still decided to watch through the video--and I've gotta say.. I don't think I'd be able to ever describe the game better. Great video, good job buddy. :)
Orcs are my personal favorite race in Skyrim. Their racial ability stacks with so much stuff, that I don't mind if they lack another passive ability like the others. Seriously, Berserker Rage + Sneak Bonus on a fully drawn arrow is DEADLY. Plus it also stacks with Werewolf form and Dragon Aspect. And I love the Conjuration spells, Dremora Lords wiping out a dungeon full of bandits for you feels *soooo* good.
Though this game is several years old, since I don't play many games outside of Nintendo systems, I'm really now only interested in testing out Skyrim because it's available on Nintendo's side. But as you said, it's full price at around 60USD and I wasn't sure if I was willing to spend that much on such an old title. I ended up getting a used copy for the PS3 to test the waters and I've come to the conclusion that this is my kind of game! I'm still not sure if I want to buy Skyrim for the Switch now, buy it used, or hope it goes down in price, but I'll definitely be getting it sometime. Thanks for the review.
I am among those who have never played Skyrim, so thank you for mixing that in. Yell goats off a cliff, got it. I know this games sucks in people for vast amounts of time so I'd avoided it, but being able to play it on the go is a new angle which means being able to play it here and there instead of just at home. Love your reviews! Keep 'em coming.
Maybe I will try this on Switch. At least it does not allow modding. My experience with every new Bethesda game so far: - spend a day researching and installing all the mods I will need - never play the actual game

You haven't had a single heart attack yet.... it's like people don't think WHATSOEVER when they type out a comment desperate for likes

Do you make it to the cloud district often? What am I saying, of course you don't.
After 600 hours on PC, I still dont know what the "cloud district" is.
@@nicholasseitler4997 Whiterun is made out of 3 districts, the plain district (blacksmith and market) the wind district (temple and battle-born guild) and the cloud district (the castle). So basically Nazeem calls the dragonborn a peasant and unimportant.

Well... Now that it's half off, I'm going to finally play this game! Great review!
Great review for someone that's never played the game. I was deep into the Dragon Age series when this came out, so I just didn't have time for it. Glad that was the case cause now I get to try it out for the first time, and on a Nintendo system of all things.
I remember that feeling I got when I finally got my smithing to lvl 100 and unlocked dragon gear. one of my favorite Skyrim moments.
Bethesda, all will be forgiven if you port fallout new Vegas director’s cut to the switch.
Oh god don't play with my heart like that.

But for me they have like, one more chance to even start on the oath of redemption for me.
They best make TES6 at the very least better than Skyrim. I mean, I loved Skyrim, but I want an improvement, any mishandling of that franchise like they did with Fallout and I don't think they'll even have a playerbase left...
Skyrim: Good world and all, story? Who cares dude, go explore
NV: Good world? Yes. Good characters, writing and main quest? Yes.

In all seriousness though, I can't wait for this. Though I've put a ton of time into the PC version, I've wanted something like this on a portable system for years.

Oof, please don't compare it to breath of the wild
Well... no not really it’s like comparing Mario kart and Forza.
Fellas, fellas... Skyrim is more realistic than any other game to date, period... with 100+ mods mainly sporting immersion mods and making sure visuals are juuuuust right. ^.^
Botw is more innovative and the combat is more well better and skyrim and mine craft have a similar combat system but mine craft is hated so nobody ever noticed

I've never played Skyrim due to it not being on a Nintendo console before, but this made me really excited to try it out! The only open-world games I've played is BotW and Xenoblade Chronicles X, and I loved them both, so I'll probably love this one too.
It's amazing buddy. just get it, believe me.
4Blackout this is the definitive open world game. you'll love it
4Blackout u should be aware any other open world game will be considerably less open world by comparison
You'll understand why a 6 year old game is still popular and sold at full price.

I just realised thanks to this video that I've been following you for 5+ years. Dude, how time flies.
"I could literally go on for hours going over everything you can do in the game"
.... is it bad that I want that?

WITLESSMASS because it's a 6 year old game
WITLESSMASS I had mine 2 minths later for 16 in black friday last year. Hope i can repeat the luck.
It being $60 elsewhere doesn't justify it being $60 here. Those ports shouldn't even have been full price. They're all slightly modded versions of the base game which has been barely improved since it came out originally 6 years ago. Theyre being priced at $60 for money and nothing else.
Ivan Ramos Extremely, bitch.
Silver Fang Good to know kid. Now go back to Cod.
They really should sell this game as a pack in tittle for the switch, it's the reason why I'm seriously considering buying it, if they put it in a bundle they would move so many units
nintendo fans are getting everything, its a good year to be a Nintendo fan
That ending monologue bro hilarious I was just searching reviews for Nintendo switch for Skyrim and found your channel and subscribed to it right now....also I am planning on getting my Nintendo switch...it will be my first Nintendo that I will be buying ever..... excited for that...
Great review Arlo. Already played the game before (invested a total of 575 hours into it in fact) but still decided to watch through the video--and I've gotta say.. I don't think I'd be able to ever describe the game better. Great video, good job buddy. :)
I wasn't going to buy Skyrim, never really interested me.
Then Arlo comes in and does this review. Now I want to play this game.

My experience with every new Bethesda game so far:
- spend a day researching and installing all the mods I will need
- never play the actual game
I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to unmodded skyrim tbh lol

Lay off the crack dude.
@Richard Zilincik no way on this earth switch could handle the 300 plus mods I have on my skyrim lol

What a grossly overlooked genre.
I love how critical and objective your reviews are. Could you do a review on arms?
I laughed so many times during this review.. loved it. One of my favorite games for sure, but you just made everything seem even better somehow.
Keep it up buddy
LOL the bad news XD
After watching the RiME review, I fell for it. XD
No I didn't get Rime, so I only know Arlo's review of it.
Oh man, I’m glad to see returning jokes (that is, the HP, FP, BP one)! It’s important for continued brand development.
I am terrified that if I buy the game, I might end up hooked up with it and never let it down LOL.
Hearing this game's soundtrack again really brings back a lot of nostalgic memories from when I first played this game back in 2011
9:45 if you are reading this Arlo, if you are trained in light armor, the Zelda items are very good. Kinda like eleven armor stat wise.
Don’t worry, Metroid prime 4 will save you when that comes out 😐
