Hi, you would have to remove the motherboard and it would require a lot more disassembly to come at this from the other side. It's worth noting that depending on the exact model PS4 you have you might have screws instead of the rivets. If you do have the rivets you could also replace with screws after cutting if you wanted.
@@er1c247_ Do you mean the Torx screws I use the orange and Black screwdriver to get out of the power supply, unfortunately I'm not sure what you could use instead.
@@er1c247_ I can't remember which size I used but I only have those orange screwdrivers in 3 sizes. T10, T8 & T6. I would guess it's the T8 as the T6 is very small.
This is what I did, I used a pen to hold the disc inserter open, then used a flashlight to see inside and eyelashes pliers to grab it out. The hole time the PS4 was vertical so it would be easier to fall out.
Unfortunately that sounds like part of the disc drive mechanism has got damaged. Opening the console up to see what part of the mechanism is getting stuck is all you can really do.
My ps4 slim won’t let me put a disc inside and I don’t have the tools to put everything out I only have 1 Tool screw but it doesn’t work for every thing to get it out
I have a problem.... having disc installed, but don't show it ,also dont allow me to remove it,is it mechanical or optical problem...? I be thankfull if someone help txs...
@@EasyConsoleFixes a have the same problem and my ps making noise wen a putt a disc the whole time it is because a have a Pokemon card stuck in the ps4 so what do I do?
@@DavidOgurtsov Unfortunately there is nothing really you can do except remove the Pokemon card. If you can see it through the slot for putting the disc in you might be able to get it out with a tweezers, otherwise you will have to take the console apart to get it out.
@@imjoookingfam610 Yeah they are not needed, some of the console revisions they did use screws instead of the plastic rivets, I would put those back if ya had them.
I have problem after that. there is a strange sound when the console opens. it also sounds when i press the button to eject the cd. for a while it accepted me but then the same thing happens again when I take it out. Did I not insert the screws correctly?
No it shouldn't as it the shielding should still stay in place without the rivets when the console is put back together. There's no other way to access the drive so unfortunately they have to be removed.
@@EasyConsoleFixes yep that was all that was wrong with it sure I had to also do some maintenance on it like deep clean (this console was chock full of dust) and apply new thermal paste but yeah works fine now.
i did this and screwed up the disc mechanism… i put a cd to test it after managing to remove the credit cards that my nephew inserted 🙄🙄🙄 and it makes some strange noises 😓😓😓 and it wont read the cd 😢 i guess its time for a ps5 🤭🤭 but thanks for the help, great vid 👍👍👍
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately depending on how hard he pushed in the cards he may have bent something. You could always pick up a replacement disc drive on eBay and try and swap it out. You have nothing to lose if the PS4 is not working anyway.
No one listen to this man just go request a repair from PlayStation support. If you take it apart your self and damage it or lose any one of the 20 screws that are 5 different sizes or otherwise can’t put it back together properly you now have a $200 piece of trash.
This is the easiest DIY repair to follow. This guy must repair stuff for a living or as a side business LOL. Imagine paying someone to do this for you. Tyvm man👍
For some reason the eject screw just clicked and I couldn’t get a disc out, this helped!
Thank's for the comment. Also love some of the music on your channel.
Thank you!!! My 3 year old shoved FOUR ps2 game discs into my ps4 😭 but your video saved me!
Kids can't seem to help themselves, they are just drawn to put stuff inside PS4's
Is there anyway to remove the disc drive from the bottom of the console without removing the motherboard? I want to avoid cutting out the rivets

theres certain screws i cant get out, i managed to get one out but the ones in the squares are not coming out
i do have a screwdriver set with the correct shape but not the correct size if that makes sense
@@er1c247_ Do you mean the Torx screws I use the orange and Black screwdriver to get out of the power supply, unfortunately I'm not sure what you could use instead.
@@EasyConsoleFixes yes the torx screws, what size did you use? the smallest my set goes to is T10

TYYYY, I accidentally tried to test what if you put two stickers on a CD and put it into a console...
I need to buy a set of those torque screwdrivers, what size(s) will i need as i have a PS4 slim i want to look into(coin stuck in tray)
I cant remember what sizes are used in the PS4 but if you pick any of the sets for electronics that come with multiple sizes you should be ok.
My 64gb flash stuck
My friend's son did this
Help, my disc is a tiny small one my sister put in by accident (smaller then the regular discs you get) and there’s no way of getting it out
Unfortunately taking the PS4 apart is probably the only way you will get it out.
That just happened to me too…
Never mind I just got it out, it came out flipping it upside down and using the secret twisty thing with the screwdriver.
This is what I did, I used a pen to hold the disc inserter open, then used a flashlight to see inside and eyelashes pliers to grab it out. The hole time the PS4 was vertical so it would be easier to fall out.
Don't do it at home
Give it to a Ps4 Support Or To A Good Electronics Repair Shop
Or you may break it
There’s a barrier in the disk drive that won’t let my disk out
Unfortunately that sounds like part of the disc drive mechanism has got damaged. Opening the console up to see what part of the mechanism is getting stuck is all you can really do.
I accidentally put a coin in my PlayStation and my mom is going to whoop me
The coin shouldn't have done any damage to the PS4, you just have to get it out in case it damages the mechanism that takes the discs in and out.
Yeah coin stuck in mines too.
My ps4 slim won’t let me put a disc inside and I don’t have the tools to put everything out I only have 1 Tool screw but it doesn’t work for every thing to get it out
What type of all screw did you use?
If you mean what type of screw driver. It's a torx bit to get into the PS4 and then once inside they are Phillips screws.
@@EasyConsoleFixes what size hehe?

If the console is not allowing the disc to eject it sounds like a mechanical problem. Does the console make noise when you try and eject the disc.

It is possible whatever was put inside the PS4 has damaged the eject mechanism or the white rollers that take in the CD.
