..to the ORIGINAL viewers of this Nov. 1991 Episode, the Original tune playing during the Gang's Club entrance scene, was Seal's Remix of "The Beginning ('Round The Underground Club Mix)" ...that tune wrecked my NERVES!! ...Can't believe it's been excised from the scene......
@@jscat85 ...when the show was transferred to DVD, the Series couldn't 'clear' the rights to use a majority of the Music (they would have to pay the Singers A LOTTA Money), so they replaced it with 'generic' Music to save Money.....
Actually: Kim Walker who played Heather Chandler in the film "Heathers" was the Original Regina! fun fact: Shannon Doherty was also in Heathers(she played Heather Duke) and when Tori spelling went to the movies with friends to see the film she suggested to her dad Aaron Spelling who was casting for 90210 at the time to try out Shannon for the part of Brenda, you see Full circle!!
2 things: First, who gets popcorn before going to a party? Second, while I don't condone selling alcohol to minors, it was nice that the store owner went for Jack Daniels Black Label. He could have easily picked up Crown Royal, or a higher end bottle, and made a lot more money on this one time sale.
Even back then, when this first aired, we KNEW Emily Valentine was only gonna be a temporary character. I actually thought she was going to cheat on Brandon with Dylan and then Brandon was going to kick her to the curb, but she got herself dropped for dosing Brandon. She actually comes back to say "hello" in a future episode, if I remember correctly: Brandon goes out of town and bumps into her somewhere and she's all stable and has her life together, and then Brandon contemplates getting back with her. (that's what I remember anyway, too lazy to go look it up right now.)
If you watch the pilot, Darren Star will admit there are certain elements of the 80s still hanging around. Brandon has a mullet. Everyone’s wearing bright colored clothes. And the music still has the hard rock 80s vibe to it. But by season 2 you’re right. There was nothing 80s about this show.

I think it’s the night Kelly is in a fire that he’s with her? Am I right? lol
I always thought of this as a late 80s show..I still can't wrap my head around the fact that this was a 90s show!
the 80's were lingering, fortunately I broke free when grunge cam e around - though nowadays I have 80's nostalgia, go figure
Absolutely nothing about it cries 80s!!! Nothing!! Lol
@@toadwar9300 It was early 90's preppy. I was in a grunge crowd, until we started listening to Morrissey and the Cure.

Looking at all those prices for booze….
Brenda was right about Emily being a bad influence
The club scene..nope!
Not even close to the cool original music…
..which I mentioned, in my post...I even gave a list of the tunes, AND the actual Dance Club tunes out the time the Ep aired, Nov., 1991....
