The F4R engine didn't have any cam profile change, it only had a variable pulley at the intake. This throaty sound you hear is simply the F4R engine with some typical intake mods. Perhaps a cone filter and thats it.

However, i don't know the detais of this project of yours, i don't know your budget to do this but i would avoid engine swaps, specially trying to fit a v6 into such small engine bay. Swaps are complex, time consuming and the bill can get expensive preety quick in services and parts. Making a swap project work well, smooth, reliably and such is not as simple as it seems. Ive seen people quit swap projects, sometimes turbocharging the engine can be a better option. But honestly, i don't know where you are from or how much you are willing to spend but i would suggest you look for an RS Clio. These things are not that expensive anymore, are light as hell and already have F4R engines as factory. Personally, the only thing i would swap is the car, i don't think a Scénic is worth the hassle. I the end you may end up with your resources drained after such project and end up with a car that doesn't work properly. Swaps is a thing for specialized shops. Save up some, sell the scenic and get a clio. It will be alot cheaper in the long run and your car will be more dependable as well as more fun to drive. Not to mention that there is quite a selection of aftermarket stuff for Clios, you will never get bored of it. Sorry, it's just my honest opinion. I currently drive an HR16 manual Micra, super fun, cheap, efficient... but im getting something else instead of investing in it, i don't think it is worth the hassle. But hey, thats just me. But if you decide to swap, forget the V6, that would be an insane tight fit, go F4R.

Yeah, really nice little car! combined to size, power, engine & weight there are not many cars left on the market anymore (apart from the small engine turbo blow dryers)...So got my second one last year(only 50 tkm on the clock!) and - it's still a pleasure to drive and also see some reactions of people who don't know such a little and forgotten old(almost 20 Jears) car has that power and sound. This car has sure some potential to be a youngtimer in the future i think.
I owned the exact same one. I still believe it's not pulling like it should with 172hp in a pretty light car. Sounds great for sure, but I've had more fun in other small hatchbacks
@@raviolilover1I've had more fun with 106GTI/s16, which was nimbler, more playful and although it was 50hp down, I never felt it was behind a Clio 2. Civics with K20s were just another engine league paired with nice suspension setup.

I miss these angry sounding 4 cyls. nowadays all 4 cyls sound like synthetic elongated farts apart from the A45s but that sounds like a high pitched hum. bring old school good sounding 4 cyls back

Man, I love old VVT engines and their agressive cam profile changes. Sounds glorious!
