      sometimes it follows the Custom instruction box, most times not. I can do things like "Replace "Deep Dive" with "Something else", seems to work and telling them they are experts in their fields and their audience already has certain knowledge. But if I "Stop interjecting so much" "Stop saying Wow or Right, OKay, etc... That doesn't work well. Also if I say "Be more detailed and extend to 30 minutes", Sometimes works okay, most times not. Looking forward to where they take this tool.

    for youtube vids not supported, I copy/paste the transcript into the text box. Plus, I will use Chatgpt or Grok for a chat, then I will paste the sources they list into NBLM so I don't have to read the entire doc or websites. Seems NBLM starts putting in its own opinion. I have a war history channel and every single podcast the "hosts" spend 2 or 3 minutes saying "War is Bad" (paraphrasing but you get the idea. I will like it and use it, I've been copy / pasting the sources on the left (summaries, transcripts etc...) into another big doc. Export to PDF/Txt then attach to a chat in grok or Chat to build a YT script. A lot of slow cutting and pasting. Which I could just copy ALL, Paste ALL. I've tried using the Customize podcast box, sometimes it does what's instructed, sometimes not. It's still a great product with a lot of potential, even if the "podcast" isn't perfect right now.

      I am an electrical engineer. After I put the Canadian standards for electrical construction in hospitals as sources I was able to get precise answers to the type of power sources required in a healthcare facility, with citations. It took an extremely dry topic and gave me the answers I wanted in seconds. What a boon to Consulting Engineers. It made me so much more productive.

    Hey nice content. Here is a hack that many UA-camrs are starting to use and I have seen this.
    Premise to the hack - India has the highest population in the world along with highest English speaking population. So many UA-camrs target Indian audience for quick qrowth.
    Hack - as your are showing the examples/demos in the video, try and use examples that are India centric. The topic of your example article can be something simple like "Best Indian foods" or something that suits you but make sure the topic has "India" in it. Now, you repeat the topic name multiple times through out the video (you can say something like "as I upload this article that I was recently reading called "best Indian foods" to NotebookLM). This forces the UA-cam algorithm to push your videos towards Indian audience suited for your content. This enables you to grow faster. So there you go. My small contribution towards your growth😊. All the best. Cheers.

    Ha .. I liked that podcast thing, a little gimmicky but thought if you could tweak the script and have it for a podcast with someone .. I love how you got the transcript so quick and easy right in the same NotebookLM app

    Can you use N.LM to learn better English? Would be appreciated - E.European here, having a very difficult time understanding..

    • @TheTurtleSoldier18
      @TheTurtleSoldier18 3 місяці тому

      Her English seems absolutely fine. You need to give up the idea that the world will speak your accent just coz you think that's the right accent😂. Europe is not the the center of the world.😅😅

    • @LucaPranay
      @LucaPranay 3 місяці тому

      @@TheTurtleSoldier18 *Facepalm* - Dude, E.Europe doesn't have native English speakers, only people that have learned English, aka.: No E.European proprietary/"right accent" as you say...
      I normally easily understand any US / UK /Australian / Indian accent, even scientific lingo, but hers is very difficult because it heavily mispronounces words - which for a native English speaker could be tolerable indeed, but not for others... *facepalm again*

    Wondering… when a behemoth does products like NotebookLM, how many startups it would kill!

      Yes or no, while that can be challenging to smaller startups, but it does speed up innovation and creativity for better differentiation. Tech is always a very competitive field.

      You can save word as pdf, it probably wouldn't work on a pdf scan or pdfs with complex formatting but it works fine with text

      @graceleungyl  3 місяці тому

      Yah, it's not perfect. But for a beta product, it's still impressive and I'm sure it will keep improving. Another way is to convert it to Google doc before import.

    0:55 Make sure to pronounce the f in .pdf files like “pee-dee-eff file” instead of “pee-dee-f files” because that sounds like another word we don’t want to say.

    • @graceleungyl
      @graceleungyl  3 місяці тому +4

      My experience is not that worst, but def would have expected to be more outstanding especially how other AI are keeping up. To be fair, the Gemini model is powerful (as we see from NotebookLM), so my guess is more about the AI integration tuning part that makes the final product really impressive for end users.
