@@RoadsideRC thank you for the reply. Did you take off the traxxas connectors or just use one of your made converter cables? I would love a sledge but want to try use ec5 as this is what my charger is. Thanks
Hello. I just ordered single 6S pack with t-deans connector with 4600mAh 35C(70C). im planning solder there old Traxxas connector. Is it okay? Is 160A (320A) sufficient limit for Sledge motor and VXL6S consumption? If I visit some spec tables with connectors and max Ampers, is says 60A for TRX, 90A for XT90...etc. which is both way lower than users usually runs. I know that Traxxas suggest their batteries which has only 25C all af them. I also hesitate about change connectors on ESC, change it for XT90 or XT150 or IC5 but not now.
I run XT90 on all of my vehicles. That makes it easy to share batteries between vehicles. The t-deans connector is not enough for this type of vehicle. You can switch to TRX connector - it will be OK for most use. I believe you could get more power with a higher c-rated battery, but try it! Some batteries have surprising performance. Only downside will be shorter battery life and little bit less performance. Have fun!
@@RoadsideRC Thanks so much for the reply. I have also new 4S 100C 7200 mAh battery with the old Traxxas connector. And i achieved 64 km/h with the stock pinion and spur on this 4S with response pro tires and also fulled central diff with 20m. But on track i hope that 6S will be ok(4S is also good)Because there are only short kicks before jumps. But i have only one battery with the TRX. Im thinking about reduction TRX-XT90 on regulator. I really do not want to loose the warrancy. I bought another 2x4S 50C 7000mAh with the dean connector and use there reduction to old TRX. But i rather solder it for TRX or XT90( which looks easy to solder, use, disconnect, and has solid A). So the question is. Give old TRX to all or use TRX to XT90 reduction and solder on all batteries XT90? Im little bit affraid of changing the regulator connector, but i know it is the best way. Also i realized, that baterry jumper not hold very tight. I fixed it by stretch tapes so It's impossible to self dc :-)
Your choice on TRX vs XT90. No need to run an adapter. Just solder the same plug to both battery and ESC. For the track, you will want 4S. 4S is the standard for truggy racing. Also, 6S will be too much power - just create wheel spin and crashing.
I’m still new to the hobby. Only own a traxxas Trx4 and been really enjoying it. Seeing videos of the Xmaxx or the Udr has been really tempting. The 3s battery runs for a very very long time on my Trx4 with the Hobbywing brushless motor. My question is what kind of battery time I’m looking at for such rc like the sledge ? Thanks !
It really depends on what the mah is on the battery. The higher mah it’s like more fuel. I can tell you my experience the 3s battery I have is a 5200 mah and it will run my crawler (trail truck) for many hours. In my arrma big rock it runs 20 to 25 minutes if you are running it with quick wide open bursts. The amp draw is way higher in the basher.
On second thought - please don't buy them before I reconfirm. You are really having me second-guess myself!!!!! I did a lot of fitting the batteries off-camera also. I am 80% confident that they fit when I had them turned around...but I would hate to be wrong and you spend $$$.
@@rcfreak9 I don’t think they’ll fit unless he confirms. I have some Zeee 2s 8000 nah batteries that are the same dimensions and they are barely too big. It’s a very, very tight compartment and he didn’t close the compartment to show that they would indeed lock.
@@rcfreak9 OK - just went to re-test them. I can get one side to clip in, the other side is sooo-close. These batteries are like 1mm too tall. I have seen people putting washers or shims under the battery mount to help batteries fit. Literally a couple washers and they would be perfect.

How to use other battery’s with different connectors in this Rc? Or do I need to use the traxxas battery’s?
I solder on whatever connectors I want. They are better than the Traxxas plugs anyway:

I was looking at width (which you could see), and then I was looking at the height of the locking mechanism.
The ones I show in the video will fit.
Do the spektrum 3s 5000 fit do you know? Seen lots in the counter but you didn’t try any?

Yes, that will work fine.
