  • In this video, I have explained one of the most intutive message #transformation options provided by #WSO2EI using #DataMapper #mediator. As you may know message transformation is one of the core capabilities expected from an #integration platform. Should you wish to have access to the source code used in this video, the full project is available at the following url in github - github.com/int...

    Hi @integration corner,
This data mapper example which you given is useful for beginners. Good explanation and the way you deliver the content ( what is data mapper , purpose of this with small example by diagrammatic representation) is really I like. Please do more help by sharing your knowledge through videos

Hello sir, do you have any insight in how to handle an exception occurring at data mapper. What I mean is, lets say the client sends a string in the request JSON, but data mapper is expecting a number. In such a scenario Data mapper throws an exception but there is no response to the client. Is there a way to send the error back to client without calling the backend API?

Hi man, you've done a great job here since someone like me whom just started playing around with WSO2 products absolutely need this kind of streaming tutorial which can bring me directly to the hands on lab rather than take my times to understand the whole technical docs. I would definitely suggest your channel to my colleagues :-). By the way, could you also post other videos for different mediators such as: Rule Mediator, DBLookup Mediator, and Transaction Mediator ? Thanks in advance.

What if we have in schema multiple elements? Where is the option to choose the right element?

@@integrationcorner268 can we use WSO2 API manager instead WSO2 EI for small scale integration

@@MahipalSingh-wn6dp I presume with Small scale integrations you meant integrations which require minimal transformations and mostly over using WebServices or REST APIS. A short answer to your question would be YES, as WSO2 API Manager leverages the run time of WSO2 EI and hence a good amount of capabilities of EI can be leveraged in API Manager by writing extensions. Personally, I am not a big fan of using API Manager for any transformations (unless there is an extremely demanding situation), and I prefer to keep it as light as possible while leveraging the capabilities of the API Manager like throttling, consumer management, security etc

@@integrationcorner268 thank you for the valuable input. Actually I had very basic requirement. For now i need to invoke only one soap web service and expose as REST and later on may be adding more api's to it for monetization and my service has basic transformation. So I was thinking if i can go with Api manager only. Since as per API manager documentation we can invoke soap ws service directly and expose as rest and later on monetize if required.
