I think he and this channel deserve more views and subs. great contents, and i learn more about cinema anamorphic scopes from this video. thank you for great contents.
Thanks for watching, Sir! 🙏
THIS depends whether you need a 2X scope... Think its worth it... at 1.5 you might just as well shoot spherical and crop in post. these are gems of clips here
Bravo
Thanks man. It's a dodgy setup but when it comes together it produces good results, and on a budget.
This is incredible iam a big fan now 👍
Incredible images man.
Thank you, sir. Not bad on a budget. 🙏
great video love 16mm scopes.
Thanks man. They are cheaper for sure, but maybe the newer adapters are becoming better value. These 16mm scopes do make a nice 2x squeeze.
I got the sirui 24mm it’s ok for wide angle , sharp ,but also lacks character that the Kowa 16d has… keeping both but prefer the images from the kowa …x2 is way different than only 1.33… you do notice it a lot with the sirui…
The character of the Kowa is one thing, but the dual focus with taking lens is a huge pain! I may look to get a focus diopter. I like the Sirui anamorphics though. The new wave of affordable anamorphics are great 🤘
Hello nice shots! I thinking in buy a Asanon Anamorphic-16 you think this lens is the same spcs ? thanks
Been looking to get into the anamorphic world for a while now and also been checking out some of the adapters. From what I have seen the Aviascope has been looking the best so far imo. But then again it's over 2 grand for a shot into the blue. The whole adapter process seems so finicky, troublesome and unreliable. Especially for my run and gun style I think it would be quite a hassle, so I guess I'll stay away from them for my own mental health 😆 But it surely can produce nice images. I liked the look of your moleskine spec ad a lot! Maybe I'll look into the "budget" anamorphic lenses. I liked the images that I've seen from the Viltrox Epics 1.3x. Seem like a solid solution for 16:9 sensors. But then again, should you even bother with shooting anamorphic when you only have 16:9 and a soft squeeze like 1.3x or 1.5x? 🤔
You are 100% correct. They are troublesome and tricky. Focus can be difficult, and run and gun is almost impossible. They do make nice images, but my conclusion is it's best to pay a bit more. Aivascope is the king I would agree, but... €2200 😭 Although it is single focus.
Man... I think I just prefer spherical lenses 🥴
@@GRTHK that’s what I have been telling myself as well 🥴
What is the difference between the Kowa Vidoscope Super-16mm 2X and the Kowa 16-H ?
can you not use a Rangefinder on it?
Im so done with DYI anamorphics. Dont get me wrong the look that they produce are really nice. However it does take a lot of prep to make them work. Not very beginner friendly. Especially in 2023 where we have so many great and affordable options. And also DYI's anamorphics are very hard to sell.
I think I agree. My conclusion is the new adapters on the market are getting cheaper all the time and are much easier to use.
I have a question, i'm about to buy a Sun 16 Anamorphic adapter and i should mount it on my C100 who has an EF-S mount so i mostly use ef-s lenses. Which adapter should i buy? The sun 16 has his own adapter which is a 49mm short grey tube. Where can i find the 3 screws adapter?
I got mine from rafcamera.com/
You can message them and they will advise if they have one for you. They are very helpful.
Are you supposed to set your taking lens to infinity focus and leave it? Or adjust it as needed?
Adjust it as needed, I found. It's tricky!
